69F Women Foiling Gold Cup
69F Women Foiling Gold Cup, for the first time in 2023
69F has been working on organizing an all-female foiling regatta. Thanks to the enthusiastic response of several crews from different continents, the idea has become a reality, with the 69F Women Foiling Gold Cup to be held in Gargnano, Lake Garda, from August 28th to September 3rd.
69F is the only one-design, foiling monohull for crew, the Class for several years has been organizing successful circuits, one open and another one under 25, many girls participate in both with some all-female crews. From this year they will also have an event dedicated exclusively to them. The response from the first female sailors has been incredible, and there are already several registered teams finalizing their crews with names ranging from the Olympic world to single-handed foiling boat, from both Europe and the United States, with interest coming also from Australia and New Zealand.
The event will be held on Lake Garda, in Gargnano, well known for its conditions on the water and organization on land, thanks to the staff of the Circolo Vela Gargnano with its volunteers and race officials. The event is set to have a minimum of six to a maximum of 12 crews and will follow a schedule similar to that of the successful Youth Foiling Gold Cup, with teams taking turns on the six 69F-owned hulls for two days of qualifying, at the end of which there will be two days of finals to determine the final standings.
The sporting part is then complemented by the social moments, with morning briefing and post-regatta fleet-party, when foiling experts will meet the sailors to let them learn more about the new way of going to sea, which onboard 69F is not so different from traditional sailing, made of strategy and tactics, mainsail, jib and gennaker trimming and a lot of teamwork.
The date for women who wants to fly on water is from August 28th to September 3rd in Gargnano, Lake Garda, with the 69F Women Foiling Gold Cup.
