Trifork, the leading IT and business service provider, will be an Official Partner of The Ocean Race Legends Regatta in Genova that is seeing some of the leading race boats and most famous names from the event’s 50 year history gather for the Grand Finale of the 14th edition of the Race.

Having been a Presenting Partner for the Aarhus stopover earlier in The Ocean Race, and most recently joining forces with the Mirpuri Foundation VO65 to create Trifork-Mirpuri Racing, Trifork has now further cemented its involvement in The Ocean Race by supporting this special 50-year Anniversary Legends Regatta (find out more here:

The regatta brings together yachts from as far back as the original edition of the Whitbread Round The World Race in 1973 such as Italian entry Tauranga, skippered by Eric Pascoli, up to some of the VO70s that competed in the early part of the 21st century. Among a host of legends coming to Genova are former race winners Paul Cayard (USA) – who won the 1997-98 Whitbread Round the World Race on the Whitbread 60 EF Language – and Ian Walker (GBR) – who became the race’s first British winner aboard Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing’s VO65 Azzam in the 2014-15 edition.

The partnership with Trifork includes a customised guest engagement programme for the Grand Finale in Genova, brand visibility at key moments during the Legends Regatta events and activities, and a chance to showcase Trifork’s business, and involvement in sailing, to a brand new audience.

Richard Brisius, Race Chairman for The Ocean Race, said: “The sport of ocean racing has come a long way in half a century, and we’re delighted and grateful to have Trifork’s support in showcasing the 50-year legacy of this race. We’ve seen so much change and technological development across 14 editions of the race, which we can see in the boats that have gathered here in Genova. But throughout the years, as sailors we have always had a keen awareness and concern for the health of the ocean, which is more important today than ever before.”

Jørn Larsen, Founder & CEO Trifork, commented: “We are very proud and delighted to be a partner of The Ocean Race Legends - especially as the race recognises 50 years of around the world racing. It is very important to keep these former Ocean Racing yachts in operation to engage fans, preserve the legacy of the Race, and serve the up-cycling agenda."

The Ocean Race 50th Anniversary Legends Regatta takes place between 24 June and 2 July.
