Martin Molloy has been appointed GAC UK’s new Product Manager for Marine Leisure & Events, taking over the reins of the GAC Pindar business from Jeremy Troughton.

Martin has been with GAC UK for over a decade, most recently expertly managing its third consecutive outing as the logistics provider for The Ocean Race. With 17 years of combined freight forwarding and event logistics experience, Martin is the perfect fit to lead the specialist division into its second decade of operational excellence, ensuring the continued high level of service GAC Pindar customers have come to expect.

“I am looking forward to guiding the team in its next phase of development,” says Martin. “I believe the passion, dedication and level of expertise within the GAC Pindar team is unique in the forwarding sector and to have this opportunity to lead the charge is an honour.

“I worked closely with Jeremy Troughton for almost seven years. He steered our team through some of our most difficult times, throughout a global pandemic and the shipping crisis. He leaves us in fantastic shape, with a growing team and the business going from strength to strength. We wish him every success for the future.”

Andrew Pindar, OBE DL, Founding Partner of GAC Pindar, says: “I greatly admire Martin’s leadership, commercial and operational ability, and am thrilled he will be leading us forward. I am confident that we will thrive under his talented guardianship. I extend my best wishes to both Martin and Jeremy in their new roles.”

Jeremy navigated GAC Pindar through two successful editions of The (Volvo) Ocean Race, an Olympic Games, the inaugural season of SailGP, as well as the venue selection and initial planning for the America’s Cup in Barcelona. He leaves GAC Pindar to work on event overlay for the Paris Olympics.

The marine leisure, sport and events team sees closer alignment with GAC UK’s freight services division which handles more than 100,000 shipments per year from bases in Aberdeen, Felixstowe, London Heathrow, Manchester & Teesside for diverse sectors including Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, FMCG and temperature-sensitive goods.

“By working more closely with GAC Pindar, we shall enrich their service offering with additional air, sea, road, rail & customs support staff. They are well-versed in providing solutions for budget-minded customers across many sectors working to tight schedules,” says GAC UK’s General Manager for Freight Services, Mark Horton. “We look forward to expanding our expertise together, whilst offering team members opportunities to progress their careers within GAC Pindar’s diverse and sustainability-focused environment.”
