Amel unveils the Amel 50.2, its new cruising yacht
Chantiers AMEL announces the launch of the AMEL 50.2, which will be presented in a world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival, from 8 to 13 September 2026, in Cannes.
Following in the wake of the AMEL 50, while preserving its core fundamentals, this new model marks a new milestone in the history of the brand. Designed for offshore cruising, it combines Chantiers AMEL’s expertise in safety, comfort and ease of handling with an evolution in design, living spaces and equipment.
The AMEL 50.2 is intended for owners who want to sail far, as a couple, with family or with friends, aboard an elegant, comfortable and reassuring yacht.
An evolution true to AMEL’s DNA
Designed by Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design, the AMEL 50.2 was conceived as an evolution of the AMEL 50, without breaking away from what makes the brand unique.
The exterior lines gain in softness and fluidity, with a focus on harmony between the deck, the outdoor spaces and the interior layout. Its slightly wider hull, reverse bow and modernised hull shape support this evolution, with particular attention paid to performance and behaviour at sea.
The cockpit retains one of AMEL’s key signatures: a central, deep and protected layout. Its organisation has been redesigned to make manoeuvres and movement on board easier. The hardtop supports have also been moved aft to improve visibility.
“Everything feels natural on this boat; it just falls into place. Whether in its proportions or in its use, it is a fully accomplished yacht”, says Olivier Racoupeau, from Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design.

A yacht designed to sail far, with control
With the AMEL 50.2, Chantiers AMEL offers a yacht designed both for sailing and for life on board. It has been imagined to enable owners to sail far, with a high level of comfort, control and confidence at sea.
This model draws on the shipyard’s experience in design, equipment and build quality, with increased attention paid to everyday use on board.
A softer, more enveloping interior atmosphere
On board, the AMEL 50.2 breathes a soft and serene atmosphere. Curved forms, high-quality materials and attention to detail create a warm, elegant and timeless interior.
The owner’s aft cabin has been redesigned to offer greater privacy, with a bed facing aft and a more cocooning atmosphere. Movement on board has also been designed with sailing in mind, with handrails integrated into open passageways in order to combine aesthetics, usability and safety.
“The intention was to create a cocoon, a cosy place where you feel good, where you can relax. An interior of well-being and serenity”, explains Isabelle Racoupeauthe interior designer.
Designed to be handled by two people, the AMEL 50.2 can accommodate up to six guests in remarkable comfort.

A world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival
Europe’s leading in-water boat show and the world’s number one event for large sailing yachts, the Cannes Yachting Festival will provide a privileged setting to unveil the AMEL 50.2 to professionals, media and offshore cruising enthusiasts.
