Gruppo Antonini is pleased to announce its participation in the OMC – Offshore Mediterranean Conference & Exhibition from April 8 to 10 in Ravenna. One of the main international events for the offshore energy industry, this is an important opportunity for Gruppo Antonini to showcase its historical expertise and long experience built up since 1943 in the oil & gas industry, as well as to explore new possibilities offered by the energy transition.

The OMC is a point of reference in the offshore energy industry, gaining international standing over the years and becoming one of the most eagerly awaited events in the sector, which is why Gruppo Antonini will be taking its own stand to showcase the Group’s long tradition in the industry as EPCIC contractor (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning) and also more recent projects under development or already completed.

One example, which reached its destination in Angola a short time ago, is the impressive Maboqueiro gas platform, a structure weighing more than 5,500 tonnes that was built and launched entirely at Gruppo Antonini’s La Spezia shipyard and neighbouring engineering workshop. Handed over to customer Azule Energy at the end of 2024, the project required 24 months of work to complete because of its complexity, due to the size and the numerous interfaces involved.  The start of the final phase in the platform’s installation is planned for March 2025, when the jacket and deck will be positioned in the Atlantic Ocean and assembled, an operation managed directly by the customer off the Angolan coast. This will be followed by hook-up operations – the connection of the deck to the jacket and the platform to the gas wells – lasting about 45 days and performed by Gruppo Antonini. Maboqueiro is the first EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project for Azule Energy, a joint venture between ENI and BP that is becoming one of the main players in the Angolan oil & gas industry.

Two important orders recently won by Gruppo Antonini, both awarded by Mellitah Oil & Gas BV – Libyan Branch (National Oil Corporation of Libya and Eni North Africa), are a gas production platform in Libya worth a total of €300 million and the Platform Compression Module for installation on the existing SABRATHA gas platform, 42 metres above the level of the sea and 120 km from the Libyan coast.
