World début for VESPRO: the first model built by CENTOUNONAVI was presented for the first time at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023.

With its 16.70 metre length and 4.6 metre beam, VESPRO is the smallest in the CENTOUNONAVI range, after FORZA (28 m) and ETEREA (39 m). But this powerful fast cruiser has so much concentrated technology that it deserves full attention, like all the creations of this strictly “Made in Italy” brand.

Expectations exceeded during the first sea trials

The first sea trials of VESPRO confirmed, in a convincing test, everything that had been studied on the drawing board. Powered by two 1,200 hp MAN 8V engines coupled to MJP 350X water jets, the yacht reached a maximum speed of nearly 57 knots, one more than expected, and at a speed of 30 knots she recorded excellent fuel consumption - just 6 l/nm. The range of 350 nautical miles at top speed has also been confirmed, while, at cruising speed, it was possible to appreciate all the arrangements developed to protect guests from the wind and achieve extremely low fuel consumption for a yacht of this size and performance.

“When, on the eve of the launch, I said that VESPRO combined performance with cruising comfort, speed with low noise and very little vibration, I was sure of what I was saying. But after having sailed in it, I can bring concrete data to the table that confirms everything I had predicted. Curiosity and appreciation were unanimous at each landing and it is not a stretch to be thinking of a sister ship in the short term. One of the details that guests appreciated most was certainly the brightness of the interiors; skylights made it unnecessary to have portholes and windows on the side, which are always associated with some type of problem. The rapid transformation of the aft cockpit was also much admired, from the protective and collected navigation layout to the layout when at anchor, which is very spacious thanks to the large sundecks and the fold-down panels, with easy walking from bow to stern. After all, each CENTOUNONAVI is tailor-made for its owner, it is a small work of art,” explains an enthusiastic Marco Arnaboldi.

A classic luxury layout was chosen for the interiors of the first VESPRO: owner's cabin with private bathroom and separate shower box in the bow, a large living room with galley and a second service bathroom, finally a second guest cabin aft of the stairs leading to below the deck. Black and white lacquers were used extensively in the furnishings, combined with large aluminium surfaces and mirrors with white leather seats. This creates a pattern with great contrasts in the furniture, following traditional rules but at the same time appearing very modern.

The exterior design is an original reinterpretation of the classic open style, enhanced by the very particular and exclusive grey colour, called “Grigio Vespro”. The windshield can be retracted into the roof of the deckhouse for totally en plein air navigation, a feature shared by every CENTOUNONAVI model. Below the hardtop is an L-shaped sofa with a dining table, another sofa opposite, bar unit and, of course, the helm station. The aft cockpit features a walkaround sundeck that can be transformed into a dining area. Foldable bulwarks increase the surface of the dining area and of the swim platform, while the foredeck, easily accessible from the comfortable side decks on both sides, consists almost entirely of a large sundeck.

But the CENTOUNONAVI Vespro also knows how to be environmentally friendly, faithful to the shipyard's catchphrase, “FAST IS GREEN”. “This is not an empty statement but a real design choice, supported by a number of environmentally friendly solutions,” says Manuela Lucchesi. “The PVC foams we used are recycled, as are other materials we use for construction. By reducing weight as much as possible and building particularly efficient hull profiles, consumption is considerably lower; water-jet propulsion is less dangerous compared to propellers, which are a risk for marine animals. Even the design is never a stylistic exercise as an end in itself, but is always aimed at being efficient and practical to use: for example, the dynamic air intakes are integrated into the rollbar, while the vertical windlass system, a solution developed by CENTOUNONAVI (patent pending) saves space and the owner’s cabin gains an extra linear metre.”
