Swan 78 Haromi
Swan 78 and Swan 115 stars of the forthcoming Med boat shows
The Swan 78-001 Haromi and Swan 78-002 Kinina, the two of four Swan 78s already sold, designed by Germán Frers, have just been launched in Pietarsaari.
Haromi will attend the Rolex Swan Cup 2018 in Porto Cervo (9-16 September) and the Genova Boat Show together with Swan 54. Her sistership, Kinina, will be on display at the Cannes Yacht Show (11-16 September).
The latest version of the Swan 115, hull n. 004 will be exhibited in a worldwide preview at the Monaco Yacht Show.
In the US, Nautor’s Swan will take part at the Annapolis Boat Show with the Swan 54.
Nautor’s Swan is also pleased to announce a new partnership with the Italian leader in outdoor furniture, Talenti. Founded in 2004 by Fabrizio Cameli, Talenti combines elegance, functionality and quality, offering products for both dining and living areas. With a distinctive reference to the indoor world, these products are able to meet and satisfy not only the needs of any outdoor setting, both private and contract, but also offer an array of styles, from classic to contemporary. Talenti's beautiful collections will give a special touch to Nautor’s Swan boat show stands.
Swan 78
All of Nautor´s know-how and experience in racing and cruising yachts have been incorporated into this new blue-water Swan 78. Her length has been deliberately contained in order to meet the EC 24.00 meters length overall limitation, and her hull form is beamy and very powerful. Modern hull lines, with a flared stern above the waterline, twin rudders and a telescopic keel make Haromi a performance yacht capable of fast long-distance cruising, or an ideal home-from-home for relaxing onboard in privacy with friends and family.
Haromi is fitted out with a bespoke performance package to upgrade her racing ability, reflecting her owner’s competitive success. This includes a longer bowsprit, ECsix carbon rigging, halyard locks, a square-top mainsail with running backstays, a mainsheet traveller and additional powered winches on the coachroof.
Otherwise, keel options include deep telescopic lifting, fixed deep and fixed shallow possibilities yet always maintaining stability. The twin rudder configuration and standard sail plan remain constants. Swan 78-002 Kinina has a standard keel with a 4m draft.
Hull and bulkheads are in prepreg glass/carbon, deck and structures in full carbon epoxy sandwich with Corecell foam core, vacuum and oven cured.
Deck
On the Swan 78 Frers signature lines have given their very best, with sleek curves that create a volume capable of protecting the cockpit and creating more space below. The design is a masterly mix of curved lines and multifaceted surfaces, with 360 degrees windows and a generous coachroof that doubles up as a sunbathing area. The recessed sprayhood and the large bimini keep guests always well protected in a cockpit/lounge.
The contemporary deck design features clean spaces and simple but effective solutions for sail handling and life at sea. The impression is one of neatness and efficiency. The layout has been optimised for shorthanded sailing with five standard powered winches close to the twin helm stations, and all lines lead aft below deck from the mast. The cockpit has been designed with maxi-style C-shaped settees, two separate tables and a wide sprayhood with recessed stowage. A large opening transom with a huge swim platform creates a perfect teak-decked ‘beach’ over four meters wide.
Forward of the mast the deck is completely uncluttered, an expanse of pure teak that ends at the forepeak with the large locker for the anchoring system.
Interiors
To provide the most flexibility and satisfy any possible owners’ requirement, the interiors of the Swan 78 are offered in two exclusive and different layouts: Owner Forward (OF) and Owner Aft (OA). With the OF configuration, the Owner has a large suite forward, cooler and quieter. It is 4.5m long, with an island bed that is completely accessible on three sides. A desk and dedicated bathroom, with large separate shower compartment, complete this luxurious apartment. The Owners Aft version is dedicated to owners who wish to sail long distances and in any weather. The large suite, in this case, is placed to the stern, in the area where there is less movement and less noise under sail. The cabin provides an impressive 6m width, thanks to the generous volumes of the modern hull shape.
Whichever the version, the accommodation also features three guest cabins with different layouts, all en-suite with separate shower compartments.
The light and fresh interiors of Swan 78-001 Haromi are the result of combining white treated teak with a contrasting dark wengé floor. White horizontal panelling in the guest cabins and diluted aquatic colors of soft furnishings are featured in all living areas. Taupe leather detailing can be found on tabletops, fittings and the Owner´s cabin headboard featuring integrated leather pockets.
Life onboard is centered around the spacious main saloon, over 6 m wide, with panoramic 360° views, with both layouts sharing the same number of cabins: one double berth VIP and two twin berth layouts.
Crew accommodations for two are ample and functional in both cases. The below-floor engine room, which keeps the same position regardless of layout choice, facilitates weight distribution, the planning of installations and flotation trim.
The galley is in the same area, with large cooking areas and refrigerated stowage.
The celebrated Nautor finish guarantees top quality both in the technical details and in the finishing, with a wide choice of veneers and accessories.
Haromi and her sisteship Swan 78-002 Kinina features the Owner Forward layout.

Interiors
The Interior Design Brief for deVosdeVries design was to create “something different” and contemporary, but with a casual and welcoming feel, using the excellent skills of Nautor’s craftsmen.
The direction determined by the initial design proposals resulted in a light grey, stained oak finish with a brushed treatment throughout, maintaining a link with the base material Nautor often uses for their interiors. This has been complemented with contemporary raised paneling on the upper sections of the bulkheads, using a crown-cut veneer with bookmatched grain patterns. The carefully selected veneers are small works of art in themselves and are repeated on the cabin and wardrobe doors.
Contrast is provided by the dark, crown-cut wenge floors, fitted with a distinctive cross plank detail.
This gives the interior a slightly industrial undertone. The interior has many details that make it extra special, ranging from the beautifully crafted, rounded corner details, to the handrail recesses and table finishes. Neutral soft furnishings in a selection of grey tones finish it all off and create a link with the grey colour scheme of the deck hardware.
The interior created is fully functional with all the required comfort and amenities constructed using lightweight foam and carbon cores in order to meet the strict weight requirements.
Michiel de Vos deVosdeVries design said “We at deVosdeVries design were extremely proud to be able to design this interior and work with Nautor, a shipyard with such a great history of building excellent sailing yachts.”

Swan 54
Open spaces, distant horizons, unspoiled islands: the Swan 54 is a thoroughbred bluewater cruiser. Designed by Germán Frers, the moderate free board and deep V hull, also available with daggerboard and twin rudders, ensure smooth sailing in rough conditions. The deck plan has been carefully designed with all sail controls next to the twin helms, allowing the Swan 54 to be easily sailed short-handed. Below the spacious accommodation has been handcrafted by Nautor Finnish craftsmen – perfect for extended stays aboard.
She has been refined in all departments and stands out in the crowd because of her design and the inherent quality of her construction. This is a sailing yacht, large enough for a group of six to cruise in comfort but small enough to be able to be sailed and maintained by her owners.
Germàn Frers comments: “This is the boat anybody like me with a wealth of offshore racing experience and a taste for blue water cruising with family and friends, or young people looking to have the adventure of their lives, would dream to own and enjoy in all places of the world without limitations of any sort. She is graceful, elegant and nice looking, the freeboards and overhangs are well proportioned and will have timeless appeal. Form and function are in complete harmony. The Swan 54 is a joy to sail”.
