Tuccoli Marine presents its new business divisions and services for yachtsmen
At the Genoa International Boat Show, Tuccoli unveiled the many novelties that will accompany the Collesalvetti-based shipyard from now until the end of 2024.
Explaining why the historical Tuscan company has tackled this renovation and further growth process was Paolo Sanguettola, the company's sole director, who summed up with these words the long work that led to the birth of Tuccoli Marine:
"After 6 years at the helm of the shipyard, looking at what has brought us this far, how we have worked and the requests that have come to us from the market in the broadest sense of the term, i.e.: yachtsmen, fishermen and sea professionals, we have spent the first part of the year defining Tuccoli's development. The results have been impressive, going from 2 to 20 boats a year, with a 50% growth in turnover over the last 3 years.
This work has been carried out with many important collaborators, some of whom will speak later, and with Marcello Gherbin, who came into contact with Tuccoli first as a customer, then as an ambassador, then as a partner and finally as my operational right hand in the company.
Imagining business life as a sailing experience, we have focused on the 5 waypoints that have allowed us to get this far
70 years of experience in boat building;
in-house technical office and construction of moulds and prototypes;
in-houseconstruction of hull, deck and fittings;
a customer portfolio of long-experienced fishermen and owners (it is no coincidence that our collaboration with Marco Volpi came from his request to have a Tuccoli);
the Italian boatyard with the highest valuations on second-hand boats
From here, we decided where to head to make Tuccoli the most versatile, flexible and dynamic shipyard builder in Italy
We have therefore reorganised the entire company with an investment of more than two million euros divided between: construction of new warehouses and preparation of production and storage areas, moving from 2 warehouses and 1200 m2 of production area to 5 structures and 4800 m2; purchase of machinery and equipment; and construction of moulds for the new models".
Describing Tuccoli Marine's business and product divisions was Marcello Gherbin, partner and sales manager of the company.
"Our capabilities and strengths have guided us in choosing how to change to better serve the market and its needs.
The newly renovated Tuccoli houses two business branches: Tuccoli Marine and Tuccoli Technology. The former picks up the baton from Tuccoli Fishing and Cruising Boats, extending construction to workboats and taking the yard's skills to a higher level. It includes four product lines, all characterized by advanced technological solutions and high-level design.
The following lines are based on the company's specific DNA:
Fishing, our most historical activity: boats designed specifically for fishermen; the range of fishing boats obviously includes the well-known VM fishermen, designed together with 33-time world champion Marco Volpi;
Custom, which includes one-off models such as the T280 Fuoriserie: custom-built boats, made to meet the specific needs of the individual customer; a tailor-made service that allows owners to obtain the perfect boat, designed and built to order;
Professional, developing the work already done for the Pilots of the Port of Livorno or the Trento Fire Brigade: work boats, i.e. boats for professional purposes, designed and built to meet the challenges of work on the open sea; the line, born from the successful experience of refitting for the Livorno Pilot Corps, is aimed at professional pilots, moorers and port workers.
Cruising, the newest. It stems from market demand, which appreciates our aesthetic style and build quality and also wants boats that are more liveable and familiar. High-quality cruisers for the traveling yachtsman who seeks the ultimate in safety, reliability and comfort.
The second business branch, Tuccoli Technology, provides support both for Tuccoli Marine production and for work commissioned by third parties. It deals with the modelling and production of moulds - even definitive ones - in various materials, including fibreglass, applying different techniques depending on the project; the materials can be delivered finished and ready for moulding or they can result in the actual mould, which will be ready to be used and assembled by the customer. Among the different equipment used for this purpose, an innovative five-axis CNC milling machine specifically for naval applications was purchased, capable of producing hulls, decks and parts up to 20 metres in length.
Each of the company's divisions is supervised by the Technical Unit (also known as the Technical Office), which is responsible for the design, development and implementation of the entire production."
Facilities and infrastructures
Reorganization also translates into a doubling of space: the current area of the yard, where Tuccoli Marine and Tuccoli Technology are based, will be significantly expanded. The company is in fact setting up a new space dedicated to production boat assembly, which will be cleaner, more efficient and more visible to the public. Furthermore, a new shed will house fibreglass milling and moulding operations, while another structure will be dedicated to warehousing. Last but not least, a bodywork structure will also be maintained. In short, the yard will grow from a total area of 1200 square metres to an area of approximately 4600 square metres.
Tecnologies
In an effort to improve the quality of its products and services, Tuccoli has also made important investments in cutting-edge technology. As mentioned above, it has recently acquired a 5-axis CNC milling machine, specifically for the naval sector, which allows the production of complex parts with extreme precision. Vacuum infusion moulding will also be introduced. In addition, the Technical Unit and the engineering part will be consolidated to guarantee professionalism and exclusive expertise.
We then identified three Tuccoli's own technologies, again looking at what we do best and where we want to go.
TDS: Tuccoli Double Structure, is a result of our tradition and is our own specification. It is not just a simple counter-mould that lines the inside of the main hull, but a true reinforcement. It is a construction system that involves gluing a structural spider to the counter-mould of the main hull, which gives the whole a greater rigidity, absence of vibrations, better weight distribution and a better internal finish of the lockers and bilge, to the benefit of aesthetics and easier cleaning.
TPH: Tuccoli Progressive Hull, a prismatic hull with progressive draft angle from bow to stern. A technology that we already apply to our boats and which we will implement even more in our new hulls, also thanks to the use of the milling machine to create prototypes and moulds. It is a hull with a continuously variable V that is optimized according to the section and therefore the flow of water it sails with. No two points of the hull have the same angle, which allows for smooth sailing thanks to the bow angle and a stability and efficiency superior to the standard design given by the stern deadrise
TMD: Tuccoli Modular Deck, the newest technology that we have developed in detail with the boat that we will unveil at the end of the presentation, which covers all series production, both fishing and cruising. A boat with several possible deck solutions, i.e. the possibility of customising one's boat (in this case the deck specifically) according to one's needs, with easily installable elements and modules that are not part of the initial deck mould. In addition to having possible layouts each deck element becomes modular so that it can be put on or taken off at will.
T 250 Capraia Cala Rossa : world premiere at the Genoa Boat Show
Presented at the 2022 edition of the Genoa International Boat Show, the more cruising version of the T250 is now available. Its main feature consists of a bow sundeck created by extending the seat in front of the helm console where two people can lie down at the same time. Below deck, this new deckhouse increases interior roominess by giving much more air and space to the cabin housed in the bow, which is bright and comfortable, and a new reorganisation of the cockpit also allows for a dining table for four served by the retractable bench on the transom. All this in a boat that retains the clean, elegant profile of a central console fisherman in which the deckhouse remains hidden by the bulwark.
Finally, the novelty of 2024, the T295 presented by the two design pencils who created its development: Alessandro Vismara and Otto Villani. A choice that again draws on tradition, understood as the experience and renown of a professional such as Vismara, and the future, which is Villani, understood as a desire to evolve even in areas adjacent to the more usual ones and work with new creative spirits.
Presented in two versions, the T295 VM for fishermen and the T295 Montecristo, more suitable for family cruising.
The new T295 in detail
T295 is the first model of the renewed Tuccoli: a project with modern lines and improved technologies, which brings to a new evolution the construction excellence of the Collesalvetti-based shipyard, backed by 70 years of experience in the construction of Mediterranean fisherman. A vessel with strongly seaworthy qualities that will delight both fishermen and cruisers, as it is available in a Fishing version, the T295 VM, and in a Cruising version, the T295 Montecristo.
New proportions, better efficiency
The hull has a length of 9.10 m. Its width of 2.55 m, at the top of the size category standards, makes the T295 in both versions more modern and stable at anchor than models of the same size. The overall length (lft), including the bow fitting and outboard encumbrance, measures 9.99 m and certifies the T295 as a registration-free vessel - a detail that can make a difference, both because you don't have to register the vessel and because it limits the expense of a berth. Overall, the width-to-length ratio gives the model better proportions, providing beauty and functionality. By design, the estimated weight is 1900 kg: it is therefore light and capable of lower fuel consumption.
Motori e capienza al massimo
The T295 comes with twin engines: the standard model has two outboard engines of 300 hp each, which can also be manoeuvred using joysticks, but can be fitted with a maximum power of 350 hp for each engine. A more cruising version is being studied with separate engines, positioned on the sides of the hull and with a central platform.
The T295 is also suitable for longer stays at sea, thanks to the greater capacity of the tanks, which are larger than any other 10-metre produced in Italy. The freshwater tank holds up to 250 litres, while the two fuel tanks have a capacity of 400 litres each. There are no limits to your fishing trips or cruises.
Aesthetics in the service of functionality
Compared to previous models, the T295 has a more modern and sophisticated style, with new elegant details, such as the handrails and the matt black stanchion. But it is still a Tuccoli: its features are designed to put aesthetics at the service of functionality, retaining the marine character that has made our fishermen famous and popular. For example, in line with the rest of the Tuccoli range, the new model retains the coachroof, which as well as being a recognizable element of style has the merit of making mooring more practical. The same goes for the extension of the stern platform, which extends both horizontally and laterally, allowing for more agile transhipments and ensuring greater balance. The anchor is fixed, with the electric winch remaining in view.
Another element that fuses aesthetics and functionality is the glazing. The front one is integral, there is no continuity between roof and windscreen. The standard model, with its more Mediterranean character, features a partial side window, to allow ventilation and guarantee greater comfort on board; to this is added a canvas and PVC roll-up awning, to close off the sides and aft. But the model is also available in a "more northern" pilothouse version, with full side glass and sliding rear door, for those who use the boat all year round even in harsh conditions and low temperatures.
A new range of colours and materials
The T295 offers a wide range of colours and materials, many of them new, to customize the hull, deck, upholstery and waterlines. In the standard version, the deck is made of diamon antiskid, which due to its homogeneity offers remarkable practicality; but it is possible to opt for other materials, such as synthetic teak, natural teak, synthetic foam or marine cork. Not to mention the colouring, which is available in numerous new shades. The upholstery is closed-cell, which makes it unable to absorb water; it has a layer of foam covered in Skai UV Reflective, which increases its durability, and is available in no less than six shades. When at the waterline, there is a choice of four different colour lines.
T295 VM: Deck Layout
The helm seat is central and has a counter seat behind it, with a livewell and fish tank. A second cockpit manoeuvring station can be added. The hard top is larger than the category average, covering about 50% of the deck to be protected from the weather at all times, and accommodates underneath: on the right, a dinette-cum-couch, with an opening table (to seat up to 6 people) and a galley, equipped with a sink, stove and refrigerator; on the left, a comfortable chaise longue, with various lockers to stow fishing equipment. In addition, a further module can be added to the deck, containing tanks or lockers, and which, depending on the height chosen, can offer additional seating as well as act as a worktop.
Chaise longue and galley are fixed because they are moulded: everything else, thanks to Tuccoli Modular Deck technology, can be configured to your liking, with the possibility of also drawing on layouts and accessories from the Cruising line.
The cockpit, aft of the roof or the seat of the settee in front of the dinette, is designed unfurnished to encourage customization. It can remain uncluttered for fishermen, but can be transformed into a second dinette, with an opposing sofa, a fold-down bench seat on the transom, and even a second coffee table.
The bow sundeck is extraordinarily large, measuring 2.5 X 2 m. The walkaround is complete and follows the entire perimeter of the boat, a detail typical of Tuccoli fishermen, ensuring comfortable anchoring operations as well as agile and safe movement from bow to stern. The side walkway is designed to keep the foot protected, in fact it never goes flush with the gunwale, and in the aft areas it reaches a width of around 75 cm, designed to facilitate fishing.
T295 VM: Interior Layout
The preset interior layout is also designed to facilitate the fisherman's activities. Inside there are two large double cabins, one forward and one amidships. The bathroom is on the side and is equipped with a marine toilet, shower and washbasin, made from quality materials such as Corian marble. Under the galley there is an additional cabin, useful for storing the fishing tools you prefer to leave on board indoors. All the rooms are lighted and ventilated, thanks to well-distributed hull windows and hatches.
T295 Montecristo: Deck Layout
The helm seat is central and has a sofa behind it. The hard top is larger than the category average, covering about 50% of the deck and providing ample shade. On the right, there is a dinette-sofa, with an opening table (to seat up to 6 people) and a kitchen, equipped with a sink, hob and fridge; on the left, a comfortable chaise longue, which turns from a counter sofa into a double sundeck. In addition, a further module can be added to the deck, which, depending on the height chosen, can offer seating as well as act as a worktop.
Chaise longue and galley are fixed because they are moulded: everything else, thanks to Tuccoli Modular Deck technology, can be configured to your liking, with the possibility of also drawing on layouts and accessories from the Fishing line.
The cockpit is designed unfurnished to favour customization. It can remain uncluttered or can be transformed into a second dinette, with an opposing sofa, a fold-down bench on the transom, and even a second coffee table.
The bow sundeck is incredibly large, measuring 2.5 X 2m. The side walkaround is designed to keep the foot protected, in fact it never goes flush with the gunwale.
T295 Montecristo: Interior Layout
The standard layout is set up for recreational cruising. It features a double hatch, i.e. two entrances below deck positioned to the right and left of the helm station, which serve to separate the paths of owner and guests, thus preserving everyone's privacy.
The interiors are arranged to offer a more than comfortable experience at sea, with an economy of space that gives a surprising result compared to the size of the boat. Inside there are two double cabins, one forward and one amidships, plus an additional stowage cabin, with a possible fifth berth arranged lengthwise - to sleep up to five guests on board. The bathroom, which is central and accessible from both sides, is equipped with a marine toilet, shower and washbasin, made from high-quality materials such as Corian marble. All the rooms are lighted and ventilated, thanks to hull windows, well-distributed hatches and a skylight located in the central area.
