To worthily celebrate its 10 years of activity, the Megale Hellas Diving Center in Marina di Gioiosa Jonica, located on the Ionian coast of the province of Reggio Calabria, this year will be present at BOOT of Düsseldorf, the largest International Boat Show and Watersports Fair in Europe, which will be held from 21th to 29th January 2017 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Active since 2007 in Calabria, the Services Company of  for Tourism and Sport Megale Hellas, with annexe Diving Center, operates in an area naturally predisposed to welcome those who love the sea, the nature and variety of the landscapes, rich in archaeological vestiges and millenary traditions. Here, in the heart of the Mediterranean, the staff of the Megale Hellas operates for the discovery of the uncontaminated sea of Calabria, along all three its coastlines: along the shores of the lower Ionian, of the Tyrrhenian "Costa Viola" and in the Straits of Messina, which hosts the "Mountain" of Scylla, considered one of the 10 reefs more beautiful in Italy.

The territory is still mostly unknown by the German and international divers but, thanks to the beauty and variety of its waters and the unrivalled quality of its sea and weather conditions, Calabria can meet the needs of the most demanding scuba divers. Among the many possible offers, the Megale Hellas Diving Center at BOOT presents the Tours of the Shipwrecks in the southern Ionian sea.

Situated along the route taken by the shipping convoys of the Second World War, the sea beds of the province of Reggio Calabria reveal more than 20 historical wrecks, with many others still waiting to be explored!

Comprising patrol boats, freighters, submarines, ferry boats and tankers, each of these wrecks, whether military or commercial, has its own story. These wrecks, often well preserved, represent an important historical heritage as well as being tourist attractions and nature reserves.

Nowadays, 70 years after their sinking, all of the wrecks have become oases of biodiversity, hosting sponges, various species of coral, and colourful fish that take advantage of a well protected hiding place.

Even underwater, Calabria represents the perfect integration of archeological treasures, art and nature, just waiting to be explored by those who venture to its depths, that is the goal that the Megale Hellas intends to carry on.

But a holiday in Calabria with Megale Hellas will be not just this... The proposed tourist services are all inclusive, for divers and non, and include, in addition to diving, also guided tours, hiking, trekking and food and wine routes, for the discovery of a Calabria unexpected and hospitable, ready to welcome new visitors!

The staff of Megale Hellas Diving Center will be waiting for you at the BOOT in Düsseldorf, in Hall 3, at stand E62 of Mares! Come to visit us!
