On Friday June 21st, the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team was officially presented at the Circolo della Vela Sicilia in Mondello, Palermo.

In the presence of the team’s president, Patrizio Bertelli, the president of the Circolo della Vela Sicilia, Agostino Randazzo, and the CEO of Pirelli, Marco Tronchetti Provera, team director & skipper Max Sirena commented the current state of the art, calling up on the stage some representatives from different departments of the team.

At the end of the presentation, Patrizio Bertelli announced the date of the launch of the AC75, to be held on August 25th in Cagliari on the Molo Ichnusa, operations base of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team.

Saturday, June 8th was the day of the launch of Q&D, the full-scale [down?] model of the AC75 boat. Among the training boats used by the teams challenging for the 36th America’s Cup, this was the first to be fully designed and built from scratch.

Having fun on optimists in Mondello

At the end of the official Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team presentation, the Circolo della Vela Sicilia set up a friendly "competition" among the team’s sailors on the optimists of the club. It was a fun way to close a day that celebrated the passion for sport.
