The electronics that govern Luna Rossa

Electronics is one of Luna Rossa's key areas, so much so that it is considered the “nervous system” of the AC75. This is the department - led by Marco Donati, and composed of Roberto Berrozpe, Davide Cannata, Stefano Baruffaldi, James Sweetman and Marco Caredda - in which complex systems are created, developed and installed, capable of interfacing with mechanical and mechatronic ones, to manage and control the boat at 360°. From the four main onboard systems to computers, by means of 3D printers, cabling, Human Interface and communication, each piece is carefully examined pre and post navigation. To integrate with existing equipment, and withstand high speeds and seawater, components are almost always custom-made to meet the team's specific requirements. It is a job that requires high specialization and great precision, as explained by the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli electronics team.
