Allianz Regatta 2024 will not take place

The Allianz Regatta, scheduled from 26 May to 2 June 2024, will not take place this year and will return to Almere, Flevoland, in 2025. World Sailing’s World Cup event has not enough entries in the 10 Olympic disciplines of sailing, windsurfing and kitefoiling this year due to the many other events taking place in this Olympic year in the rather full calendar with European championships, world championships, “Last Chance Regattas” and coach/test events on the Olympic waters in Marseille. This full agenda is also partly due to a shorter Olympic cycle of only three years.

The Dutch Watersportverbond feels it is of the greatest imprtance to keep hosting a successful international topsports event in its own country, in Flevoland. Together with World Sailing, the Dutch Federation remains committed to a sustainable and inspiring top sports event for the ten Olympic disciplines in the coming years.
