MY SONG triumphs at “Loro Piana Superyachts Regatta 2018”
The Baltic 130’ MY SONG, designed by Reichel Pugh and Nauta, achieved three first places in three races and is therefore the first overall in Class “A”.
MY SONG also claimed the Silver Jubilee Trophy, reserved for the top superyacht from both classes over 100 feet long, and the award for the top placed yacht owned by a YCCS member.
Organized by Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in the waters of Porto Cervo in Sardinia, the “Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta” offered as usual a spectacular show, with some hard-fought races following the first days when races were cancelled due to lack of wind.
MY SONG is an advanced technology, lightweight, pre-preg carbon composite construction by Baltic Yachts. Nauta Design created the general concept, exterior and interior design, while hull lines, sailplan and appendages were drawn by Reichel Pugh, also responsible for the structural engineering together with composite experts Gurit for some selected components. MCM’s Nigel Ingram was the Project Manager for the Owner in this avant-garde project .
Owner Pier Luigi Loro Piana commented : “Sardinia in this season is always fantastic, and today has made up to everyone present for the uncertainties of the first few days. I'm also sorry for the many owners who were unable to be present for this edition, and I would like to take this opportunity to invite them here for the next one. Finally, I want to thank my crew for the great job they did on tuning the boat, they deserve the credit for this victory.”
Nauta Design’s congratulations go to Loro Piana and My Song’s crew.
