Castoldi and Nauta: Italian innovation in the new Tender Jet34 Limo
Nauta, renowned for its understated elegance and cutting-edge functionality in yacht design, is proud to announce a collaboration with Castoldi on its new Jet Tender 34 Limo. This luxury tender represents Castoldi's first venture into the limousine segment, marking a significant milestone for the brand known for its pioneering work in waterjet propulsion and semi-serial production. Together, Nauta and Castoldi have seamlessly fused Italian style with state-of-the-art technology to create a truly exceptional product that redefines the traditional tender concept.
Reimagining the luxury tender experience
Designed exclusively for a fleet of ultra-luxury cruise ships, currently under construction in Italy, each boutique cruise ship will carry four Castoldi Jet Tender 34 Limo tenders to deliver a sophisticated ship-to-shore guest experience and two customised Jet Tender 28 SV serving as support vessels and luggage carriers.
"This project represents a new chapter for Castoldi that expands our offerings to new markets, while maintaining the commitment to innovation, quality, and luxury we are known for. The opportunity arose to enter the limousine tender market with a semi-serial product that fully embodies our construction philosophy of creating optimised vessels rather than one-offs," says Giacomo Castoldi, CEO of Castoldi. "We needed the perfect design partner for this, and Nauta was the obvious choice."
“We were thrilled to push the boundaries of what is possible in tender design,” says Guido Valtorta, Director at Nauta. “Typically, limousine tenders are custom-made for large yachts, but this project allowed us to merge bespoke luxury with the efficiency of semi-serial production. This is a truly unique solution in the tender market and we’re very happy to work with Castoldi for the new Jet Tender 34 Limo.”
Flexibility, functionality and luxury
Nauta’s approach to the Castoldi Jet Tender 34 Limo exterior and interior project reflects its commitment to timeless design, versatility and understated elegance. The design incorporates generous headroom to ensure comfort for all passengers, with multiple boarding options from the stern, amidships and the bow, allowing seamless circulation on board for ease of movement and optimal comfort for all passengers.
The cockpit is fully configurable, offering a range of seating arrangements for both social gatherings and traditional transfers. Wrap-around windows allow for natural light and panoramic views, contributing to the spacious feel inside. Furthermore, the tender features a dual-purpose pantry and toilet area, blending functionality and comfort without compromising on luxury.
“We wanted to create a tender that was not only functional but also subtly luxurious,” says Valtorta. “Our goal was to strike the perfect balance between technical innovation and Italian style, ensuring that the design remains timeless yet perfectly suited to the modern demands of the luxury yachting world.”
The meticulous study of materials is another key highlight, aiming to achieve a high level of luxury while maintaining a balanced and harmonious design. The result is a refined and sophisticated aesthetic. Additionally, lighting design plays a significant role in the overall ambiance of the tender, with the ceiling lights strategically placed to sculpt the space and create an inviting and elegant environment.
"The Castoldi Jet Tender 34 Limo is a platform that offers flexibility and adaptability," adds Castoldi. "The modular nature of the design allows us to offer bespoke solutions efficiently. We've created something that can evolve according to the needs of each individual client."
Design, performance and prestige
The Castoldi Jet Tender 34 Limo is powered by Castoldi's proprietary waterjet propulsion and ACES electronic control system, providing exceptional manoeuvrability, safety and performance. The Castoldi waterjet is designed to equip work, military and commercial vessels and then installed on the tender range to provide superior reliability and efficiency.
As with all Castoldi products, performance is a top priority and not just in terms of speed and manoeuvrability. From the hidden ventilation systems within the rub rail that help to push mechanical noise outward while maintaining aesthetic perfection, to the air conditioning that can cool the cabin to a comfortable temperature in under 15 minutes, every aspect of the Jet Tender 34 Limo has been carefully engineered to meet the highest standards.
“This collaboration between Castoldi and Nauta has ensured that the design didn’t just look beautiful but performed at the highest level,” says Luca Taccani, Commercial Director at Castoldi. “We’ve integrated technical systems in a way that enhances both comfort and aesthetics, creating an experience where innovation and luxury go hand-in-hand.”
Moreover, the Castoldi Jet Tender 34 Limo is designed with long-term versatility in mind. The customisable platform can be evolved to suit different configurations, including Open Limo and Support Vessel versions.
With the hull mould already complete, the first unit of the Castoldi Jet Tender 34 Limo is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2025. Castoldi will showcase the project at the Monaco Yacht Show later this year.
