The Venetian artist Marco Nereo Rotelli, has strongly, considered, for 59th edition of the Biennale d'Arte Venezia, leaving an indelible mark on the possibility of art to change the destiny and situations. The concept of the new installation, curated by Art Project, sees the transformation of a gondola, icon of history and mobility in the waters of Venice, revisited for the occasion, as a large waste container, recovered by volunteer divers in the depths of the lagoon in collaboration with the Gondolieri Association, chaired by Andrea Balbi, and rethought in a blue color.
The symbolic parade of Gondoliers and Divers for the recovery of waste, will start at h. 10.30 from the Biennale Gardens to the Naval Museum, where the vernissage is scheduled at h. 12.00 The installation wants to be a message of ethical responsibility dedicated to the sea. "That great reality that aroses from the womb of the sea" from Goethe's verse, dedicated to the gondola." The exhibition also presents, in the halls of the former Hydrographic Institute of the Navy, the immersive experience dedicated to the sea made with images and sounds entitled "After the flood", by the musician Alessio Bertallot. A new vision of the sea, a dreamlike reinterpretation of the elements: the Water and the Earth, that welcome with a serene, unconscious contemplation, the shipwreck.
The exhibition presents four large photographic artworks made by the gondolier Ettore Belgrade. On the four large images the artist Marco Nereo Rotelli, will realize with his stylistic art, a live performance with signs and words devoted to the sea.
