The Ibiza JoySail got underway today from the Bay of Palma. While the record attempt for the fastest time between Mallorca to Ibiza was put on hold for 2021 due to lack of wind, the sailors enjoyed heading out of Mallorca together to celebrate the start of this new exclusive regatta for Maxis and Superyachts.

With the fleet set to arrive at Marina Ibiza from 1900 CEST tonight, the crew will be rewarded with welcome drinks as the sunsets in this beautiful location.

Despite the wind gods not playing ball for the first day of the event, the weather forecast looks promising for the next few days of racing. With Friday now kicking off the first official race, the Race Committee will work on a route that best suits the conditions to ensure the fleet can enjoy fantastic coastal racing while taking in the very best of Ibiza and Formentera.

With entries including the newly named Moat (formerly the Swan 115 Highland Fling 15), Bliss (the Dubois designed YD 120), Dark Horse (Swan 80) and Shamanna (Swan 115) there is sure to be plenty of action and a great atmosphere at this unique regatta.
