ESEA, a next generation electric boat company, is setting out its long-term vision for the future of leisure boating following the completion of its initial seed funding round, backed by strategic investors with strong experience across technology and the marine sector.

The investment will support the continued development of ESEA’s product range, alongside expansion of its team and optimisation of its production and supply chain capabilities. Central to this approach is the creation of a modular product and manufacturing architecture, designed to enable scalable production across multiple markets while maintaining consistent quality and performance. This includes a focus on continuous product refinement, supplier development and the establishment of a robust, globally adaptable supply chain.

As the company enters the market, it is focused on building a new generation of electric boats that combine integrated design, scalable production and a significantly improved user experience.

The first model to be brought to market is the F800, an all-electric day cruiser built around the principle of “Easy · Smart · Silent”. It reflects the company’s belief that boating should be simpler, quieter and more intuitive, with systems designed to work together seamlessly rather than as separate components.

The F800 has been designed by an award-winning superyacht designer, with naval architecture by Thorne Yacht Design, and is built in Sweden. Drawing on superyacht expertise and Northern European design principles, it brings a high level of refinement and practicality to a format suited to everyday use.

Developed as an integrated platform, the F800 combines an efficient hull design with a quiet, low vibration ride and responsive handling. A steerable 270 degree rotational pod drive provides precise manoeuvrability, while onboard systems enhance usability and create a more connected ownership experience.

The F800 was first presented at Boot Düsseldorf earlier this year, where it generated strong interest from both private buyers and international dealers, providing early validation of the product concept and the company’s positioning within a rapidly evolving market.

Reflecting on the company’s approach, Co Founder and Director Dee Du said: “We founded ESEA with the belief that boating should feel simple, intuitive and enjoyable. With the F800, we have taken a fully integrated approach, bringing together propulsion, controls and onboard systems into a single, cohesive design that creates a more seamless and responsive experience on the water.”

The leisure marine sector is currently undergoing significant structural change. Electrification remains in its early stages, while increasing regulatory pressure and shifting customer expectations are accelerating demand for cleaner, quieter and more user friendly boating solutions. At the same time, many existing vessels continue to rely on fragmented systems and complex interfaces, creating a gap between modern user expectations and the on-water experience.

In response, ESEA is taking a holistic approach, combining propulsion, onboard systems and design into a unified architecture centred on usability, comfort and simplicity. This reduces operational complexity while enhancing the overall experience, allowing users to spend more time enjoying the water rather than managing the vessel.

This approach is supported by a broader strategy focused on long term scalability. Through its modular product architecture and globally adaptable manufacturing model, ESEA is building a platform that can expand efficiently across regions while maintaining consistent quality and performance standards.

Looking ahead, ESEA is continuing to expand its product portfolio, with a new 6 metre model currently under development. This will extend the company’s design philosophy into a broader segment of the market, supporting its ambition to make electric boating more accessible.

ESEA’s long term vision is to deliver a new generation of boats that are environmentally responsible, intuitive to use and designed around the real needs of modern boaters. With a growing market for electric vessels and increasing demand for improved user experiences, the company is positioning itself to play a leading role in the evolution of leisure boating.
