Monaco’s Treasure Hunt, Powered by Model Maker Group

From 23 to 26 September, during the Monaco Yacht Show, Model Maker Group will transform the Principality into a large-scale treasure hunt dedicated to yacht and superyacht enthusiasts.

The initiative, entitled “The Global Scale Model Scavenger Hunt,” invites the public to search for, photograph and share on Instagram the scale models created by MMG and displayed outside the show’s exhibition area.

Hotels, yacht clubs, brokerage offices, restaurants, private events and other locations connected to the nautical world will become stops along a route extending across Monaco. It is an original way to engage visitors and industry professionals, encouraging them to look more closely at a familiar presence within the international yachting landscape: scale models that convey the shapes, proportions and identity of yachts that already exist or are still at the design stage.
Taking part is simple. Participants need to find one of the MMG models displayed around the city, photograph it and publish the image on their Instagram profile as a post or story. The content must tag MMG’s official account, @modelmakergroup, and include the hashtag #MMGchallenge.

Only models found outside the Monaco Yacht Show exhibition area will count towards the challenge. The objective is to extend the show symbolically throughout the city, inviting the public to explore the spaces that become an integral part of the international yachting ecosystem during the event.
MMG will reward the participant who manages to find and photograph the greatest number of different models. The winner will be announced on the company’s Instagram profile.

The prize is more than a symbolic recognition. The winner will have the opportunity to spend a day at Model Maker Group’s headquarters in Itri, in the Italian province of Latina, entering the heart of what can be described as a true “shipyard in miniature.” There, they will be able to discover how yacht and superyacht scale models take shape, from the initial design through to final construction.

Founded in 2002, Model Maker Group produces custom scale models for shipyards, yacht owners and nautical-industry professionals. Its entire production process takes place at its two facilities in Itri and Fondi and involves a team of more than 35 highly specialised model makers.
Through this initiative, MMG invites the Monaco Yacht Show audience to participate, have fun and look at the Principality from a different perspective. The challenge is open: observe, photograph and discover how many miniature yachts are hidden in the heart of Monaco.
