Icona 70 wins special prize at Design Innovation Award 2026

Icona 70 has won the Special Award for Outstanding Innovation at the seventh Design Innovation Award, organised by Confindustria Nautica and the Salone Nautico Internazionale during the 66th Genoa International Boat Show. It is one of three special prizes given by the jury.

The award comes a few weeks after the yacht's world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival and after it took the Best Exterior Design prize at the World Yachts Trophies 2026.

Icona 70 is the first project of Icona inspired by Mangusta, a brand owned by Effebi New Project. The company's co-founders and partners are the Balducci family and Stefano Arlunno.

The yacht sits in the under-24-metre segment and takes its inspiration from Mangusta. Igor Lobanov, who designed the styling of the Mangusta Rev range, developed the exterior, interior, ergonomics and helm station as a single integrated project. According to the company, the spaces on board are comparable to those of larger boats.

Features include a curved glass windscreen inspired by fighter jets, a side garage and a transformable stern. When the side wings fold open, the stern becomes a 40-square-metre platform on the water.
