After the debut in Tuscany in Marina di Scarlino, the Melges World League returns, moving its center of gravity to the Adriatic for what promises to be an event in pure Melges style.

The Adriatic Grand Prix represents a major of the Melges World League regattas in the Adriatic but, this time, in the sign of an absolute novelty that bears the name of the Marche and Porto San Giorgio which, for the first time, becomes part of the group locations that embrace a Melges one design event.

News that, from one side, immediately confirmed with all the involvement of the territory and local institutions a hospitality of the highest quality, while from a sporting point of view Porto San Giorgio will be a "discovery" for all the teams at the start with particular regard to the tactical interpretations of a race course never tried before and which, as such, makes the prediction of the challenge even more uncertain that, over the four days, will see the best of the Melges 20 and Melges 32 fleets as protagonists.

As for the Melges 20 class, the thread of the discussion resumes from what we saw last month during the Tuscany Grand Prix where the veteran of the class Dario Levi' Fremito d'Arja  demonstrated an absolutely consistent show of strength by winning the stage with an advance proof. The mission of all Melges 20 teams is now to immediately "rebalance" the balance of values on the field by trying to put the bow ahead of the current leader of the Melges 20 World League standings.

Different speech for the Melges 32 class where in fact we find ourselves in front of a blank sheet with the first chapter of the 2022 season to be written starting from the Adriatic Grand Prix that marks the debut of the fleet of the largest Melges. The Melges 32 will enter the race as early as tomorrow and until Saturday 7 May, with the first warning signal set at 13,00 the Melges 20 will start competing from Friday 6 until Sunday 8 May.

The Melges World League - Adriatic Grand Prix event is organized by Melges Europe in collaboration with the Lega Navale Italiana of Porto San Giorgio, the Marina of Porto San Giorgio and the Marinedi Group.

Renato Marconi, Director of the Marinedi Group - "The curtain rises on this important event, on which we have worked with enthusiasm, in synergy with the organization and the other parties involved. Once again we reiterate that we are proud to host in the Marina di Porto San Giorgio a great sailing event such as the Melges World League Circuit which, after a long absence, finally returns to play its own stage in the Adriatic and in particular in the Marca Fermana, a territory of great interest from an environmental, historical-cultural and productive point of view, which will have an important showcase in these regattas. For our part, we will offer all the athletes, the organization and their followers, the comforts and high-level services that the Marinedi network guarantees and, in line with our philosophy, opportunities to get to know this splendid and its hinterland ".

The Melges World League 2022 counts on the support of: Helly Hansen, Quantum, North Sails, Garmin and Madonna di Campiglio as well as the technical partners Free Ride Cosmetics, Equilibra, Rigoni di Asiago, Revì, Acqua Cedea, Azienda Agricola il Ponte, Birrificio Petragnolo, Dai Dai , La Bellanotte, Sabatini Gin, Caffè Toscano, FoodNess and le Formiche di Fabio Vettori.

Melges Europe and the Melges World League support the One Ocean Foundation message by signing the Charta Smeralda.
