Six yachts have crossed the finish line at Constitution Dock in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race so far, with a procession of yachts expected to finish throughout the night and into the early hours of the morning. Defending overall champion Ichi Ban is expected to finish just minutes inside her time to beat to take the lead in the IRC standings, however there are many yachts still in contention.

RP66 Alive was the first Tasmanian yacht to finish at 1440hrs in fifth place, closely followed by the all-female professional team on board sister-ship crew Wild Oats X - Ocean Respect Racing in sixth, just 13 minutes further back.

Wild Oats X will be awarded the Jane 'Jenny' Tate Memorial Trophy for the first female skipper to complete the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race for 2018.

In IRC, Victorian yacht Chutzpah is currently sitting first overall, with just over two hours up her sleeve on corrected time. Chutzpah is predicted to finish before 0500hrs on 29 December.

Also in contention for the overall win are Smuggler, Privateer and Showtime, with the Tattersall cup within their grasp, as well as their respective divisional wins.

PYR Jarhead Wotever is leading the 10-fleet PHS division, while Pekljus and Helsal 3 are in second and third.

2 Unlimited has retired after hitting a sunfish, with the total fleet at 79.
