Future Fibres, the global leader in composite rigging technology, today announces a new supply agreement with SailGP, the most exciting racing on water. Future Fibres first joined the global racing championship in 2019, with its ECsix rigging system installed onboard all F50 catamarans since the partnership’s inception.

The multi-strand carbon rigging solution has delivered proven performance and durability throughout all six seasons of the Rolex SailGP Championship and will continue to do so for a further four-year extension.

ECsix is the lightest and smallest-diameter carbon rigging product available with a superior strength-to-weight ratio – essential for withstanding the dynamic loads generated by the F50s, which can reach speeds in excess of 100 km/h.

The demands of SailGP – the pinnacle league in high-performance sailing – also highlight ECsix’s practical advantages. Teams pack and unpack their equipment every second week as part of the championship’s global calendar – visiting destinations spanning five continents. ECsix’s ability to be coiled for transport simplifies logistics and reduces handling complexity.

SailGP is unique in that each international F50 is a one-boat design; however, it can be fitted with a range of different wing configurations which require equally precise rigging setups. Future Fibres’ high reactivity in service and replacement, supported by partner company RigPro, ensures teams receive rapid, reliable support throughout the season.

“It’s an honour to work with the SailGP league,” said Marco Sevila, Head of Sales for Future Fibres. “Supporting a championship operating at this level pushes us to innovate continuously, and together we’re raising the performance standards of elite sailing worldwide.”

“Future Fibres has been a trusted supplier and long-standing supporter of SailGP,” said Joel Marginson, Director of SailGP Technologies. “Their technology plays an important role in ensuring the reliability and performance of the F50 fleet as we continue to redefine the sport of sailing.”

With a combination of global support and local presence, Future Fibres continues to deliver the highest-tech rigging solutions on the market – perfectly aligned with the speed, precision, and relentless performance that define the Rolex SailGP Championship. SailGP’s next stop of the 2026 Season is the Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix (May 9-10) – find out more at SailGP.com/Bermuda.
