The Foiling Technology Pavilion at the 35th METStrade
The Foiling Technology Pavilion (FTP), realized in collaboration with The Foiling Organization, is one of the new additions to the 35th edition of METStrade which will open in less than three weeks and will welcome visitors from all over the world active in the b2b leisure marine industry.
From November 15th to 17th, the new feature of the world's largest trade exhibition for leisure marine equipment, materials, and systems, will show high-end racing technology's progress towards mainstream adoption in yachts and boats. A one-stop-shop for boat builders and designers interested in using foiling in sail and power yachts. The Pavilion will showcase the latest foiling technology and host discussions on the trending topics of the industry.
METStrade Director Niels Klarenbeek declared: "With the Foiling Technology Pavilion we cannot wait to unveil the latest of our forward-thinking feature areas and we anticipate wide interest from visitors and exhibitors alike. It is a logical progression for us to collaborate with The Foiling Organization to encourage the mainstream adoption of a technology that has such great potential to reduce energy consumption."
The Foiling Organization is the comparison and development network for the global foiling industry and professionals, conceived and promoted by the We Are Foiling events ecosystem. Its founder, Italian Luca Rizzotti, commented: "Foiling is transforming water mobility. The decarboniZation targets set by the EU, UN and IMO make foiling an almost obligatory choice for new leisure and commercial applications. FTP will provide an excellent opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to network while reviewing the state of the art in the global industry".
Announced during the Foiling Awards prize giving ceremony in Milan at the end of March, the pavilion soon attracted the interest of the world's most important foiling players, who responded enthusiastically by making a 'sold-out' of the available stands.
Thanks to the collaboration with the America's Cup Defender Emirates Team New Zealand, the central Display Area of the Pavilion will host an AC40 foiling simulator that uses the technology developed by SumToZero for the training of AC Teams, Women, and Youths of the AC37 and for all private owners and Pro Teams that will take part to the new AC40 Circuit. As for the real hulls, the shell of the simulator can host 2 players per side. The structure is realized by McConaghy Boats - builder of AC40, the fastest one-design on earth - and will be available for visitors willing to test their foiling skills.
The Foiling Organization has put together a three-day programme of in-depth conferences, open to visitors, on the FTP Theatre stage and in the main METStrade Theatre, covering the most topical foiling issues, discussed by leading experts in the field.
