
Safety First: Dan Lenard Restarts 500-Mile Challenge After Storm and Calm
Safety first ! After the storm that forced him touch the ground and protect the boat and himself , that obviously disqualified him for the record, after 115 miles sailed, Dan Lenard decided to restart the 500 miles challenge and then after five hours of zero wind and an identical forecast for the next 48 hours.
Dan Lenard made the decision to stop, as the provisions on board would not be sufficient for such wind conditions. All the provisions for food and water as well as how to manage sleeping on board and steering in a laser have been according to plan, only that Mother Nature did not accompany the event Dan Lenard is in perfect psycho physical condition as well as the boat in perfect condition.
He will soon make his third attempt to break the 500 miles.
