Sea.AI in Cannes: debut of Watchkeeper on Innovation Route
Sea.AI, the leader in AI-powered machine vision for maritime safety, will unveil its latest innovation, the Watchkeeper system, at the Cannes Yachting Festival. Watchkeeper has been selected as part of the festival’s exclusive “Innovation Route”, which guides visitors to the show’s most cutting-edge products.
Collisions are the “first event” in more than half of boating accidents resulting in personal injury or death, making systems like Watchkeeper critical safety equipment for on‑water confidence. Featuring ultra‑wide 4 K low‑light optics and optional thermal imaging, Watchkeeper sees farther than the human eye, leveraging Sea.AI’s proprietary database of millions of marine objects to detect and identify maritime hazards from close range all the way to the horizon.
The entry-level, dawn‑to‑dusk Watchkeeper model starts at just 4990€, bringing affordable, AI-enabled collision avoidance into the reach of most sailing and motorboat enthusiasts. The mid-range model adds night-vision, and a high-end setup maximizes field of view and detection range.
Once the object is classified, Sea.AI calculates risk and alerts the crew to urgent navigational hazards or security concerns, even those invisible to radar or AIS, such as buoys, marine mammals, floating debris, small unlit vessels, and people overboard.
The system detects all objects in real-time on multifunctional displays and iOS/Android devices, delivering situational awareness like no other.
