Bering Yachts Unveils the Bering 130: The First Vector Yacht
Bering Yachts, in partnership with Swiss design studio Valentin Design, has released the Bering 130, a 40-meter yacht that does not fit neatly into existing explorer or motoryacht classifications. The shipyard positions the model as the first Vector Yacht: a vessel built on the idea that genuine range, seaworthiness and self-sufficiency no longer have to come at the expense of spatial quality, comfort or a refined design language.
What a Vector Yacht Is
For years, the market has offered a fairly clear trade-off. Explorer yachts delivered tankage, structural strength and the ability to stay at sea for weeks, usually expressed through angular, utilitarian superstructures. Motoryachts refined circulation, living spaces and exterior form, often at the cost of real long-range autonomy.
The Vector Yacht concept rejects that trade-off. The term emphasises direction and purpose: a hull engineered to maintain course across oceans and operate self-sufficiently for weeks, while the superstructure and interior volumes adopt the curved, coherent lines more commonly associated with lifestyle-oriented yachts. The Bering 130’s appearance does not signal compromises made for range, and its interior does not signal compromises made for capability.
The model joins Bering’s Superyacht Division alongside the Bering 165, which has become the shipyard’s most requested model of 2026.
Designed Around Real Ownership Patterns
The B130’s proportions illustrate the Vector approach most clearly. Interior volume, deck circulation, and cabin arrangements are scaled at a level usually found on larger vessels, while the hull preserves the range, stability, and storage capacity of a true long-distance platform rather than a coastal yacht given expedition styling.

Movement between decks, guest zones and crew areas has been planned as one continuous system. Owners may opt for a dedicated owner’s deck with a full-beam master suite, flexible guest accommodation of varying sizes and locations, and generous outdoor spaces suited to both privacy and entertaining. Crew quarters remain distinct and efficient, with cabins and storage dimensioned for weeks of independent operation. The yacht is engineered for prolonged self-sufficiency.
Exterior That Rewrites Expectations
The exterior, developed with Valentin Design, is where the Vector concept becomes most visible. The lines are clean and deliberately restrained, closer to a contemporary motoryacht than to the angular forms most people associate with explorers. Yet the platform remains unmistakably capable: a robust steel hull, serious range, tender-carrying capacity and the practical deck arrangements required for real expedition use.
“The B130 achieves a clear balance between Bering’s explorer DNA and purposefully crafted exterior lines,” noted the Valentin Design team. “Particular attention was given to creating useful interior and exterior spaces with unobstructed views of the surrounding environment. The result is genuine added value, features, spaces and amenities presented in a well-proportioned package. This is expressed externally through visual elegance combined with authentic explorer capability.”
A New Benchmark
The Bering 130 is neither an explorer given softer styling nor a motoryacht fitted with additional tankage. It is the first yacht conceived to the Vector standard: curved, harmonious lines, genuine circumnavigation capability, and an onboard experience designed around how owners actually live and travel rather than around display.
The Bering 130 is now available for order, with extensive customisation options to suit individual cruising programmes and preferences. The concept will be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show by the teams of Bering Yachts and Valentin Design.
