KM Yachtbuilders is proud to present the Stadtship 56 ‘Flow’, a top-level yacht that combines strength and versatility. Designed by Van de Stadt Design, this aluminium sailing yacht is extremely suitable for long-distance voyages, including adventurous sailing trips to high latitudes.

The ‘Flow’ is a true ocean cruiser, built for demanding sailors who want to combine comfort and safety with performance. With a lift keel and two retractable rudders, the yacht can safely cross oceans and sail effortlessly in rivers or shallow waters. Drying out is part of the standard options and is easy and safe to achieve with a minimum draught of just 80 cm.

Eeuwe Kooi, owner of KM Yachtbuilders: “Twenty years ago, I built a comparable vessel together with my father. That makes it extra special to deliver an almost identical vessel today. With the same considered details: a third rudder, winches in a vertical configuration, a Hoyt boom, and an adjustable tack, making it easy to stow the sail. It is all aimed at being able to sail comfortably with a smaller crew. A major difference compared to my vessel is that the Flow has a hybrid drive system, something we incorporate increasingly often.” He continues: “The new owners are real globetrotters – by land, sea, and air. Even so, it is my secret wish that the Wadden Sea, such a fabulous sailing area so close to home, will become their new favourite destination. We could even dry out together.”

These vessels are extremely suitable for longer voyages because of their comfort level and sailing characteristics. The pilot house provides shelter and warmth in colder climes, and with the water ballast, sailing in open seas is comfortable with less listing.
The cockpit has been designed with an eye to ease of operation: the yacht is easy to handle solo or with a small crew. All sails can be set directly from the cockpit, which increases the comfort and safety on board. The tiller can be folded away, which creates more room in the cockpit.

The layout below decks is virtually the same as the 'Oester' [Oyster], Eeuwe Kooi's vessel, but the styling is noticeably different. Sustainable bamboo was the choice for the furniture and a number of walls and combined with white walls and ceilings that creates a light and airy feel. The floor is covered with highly practical treadmaster. There are 3 cabins with room for 6 guests, two wet cells, a spacious galley and lounge, and a workshop or technical room.

With the Stadtship 56 ‘Flow’, KM Yachtbuilders delivers a new performance cruising sailing yacht, robust, functional, and built for adventures across the globe.
