The Pogo Structures yard is making the most of the traditional winter boat shows in Paris and Düsseldorf to showcase the latest addition to its fleet, a fuel-efficient motor boat. A widely-acknowledged specialist of lightweight yet solid offshore Pogo racing yachts, the Finistère-based yard, is now investing its efforts in a niche market, which has been somewhat neglected by traditional manufacturers, that of the highly fuel-efficient cruiser. The Loxo32 by Pogo will be exhibited at the Nautic Paris Boat Show this December and at the Boot Düsseldorf in January 2018. Plenty of opportunity then to discover the ingenious marriage of tried-and-tested marine expertise and the pleasure of understated cruising.

From the very first glance, the Loxo32’s strong personality and striking identity pack real punch, echoing the signature of the Pogo range. Her refined streamlining below the waterline means that she slips effortlessly through the water and her fine flat aft hull form ensures she quickly gets up on the plane. In fact, this hybrid hull generates virtually no wake, providing minimum drag and enabling extraordinary simplicity. Her interior volume inspires confidence and is an open invitation cruising. Her level of performance brings the fun back into jaunts out to sea. Indeed, the Loxo32 is a comfortable cruising boat, optimised for an average speed of between 10 and 13 knots.

“It is about time we at Pogo Structure start exploring new fields outside of mere power and consumtion » explains Christian Bouroullec, founder of the Structures yard. “We have a good grasp of the manufacture of infused hulls and are skilled at controlling the weight so it seemed coherent for us to put this expertise to good effect in the creation of an extremely fuel-efficient motorised craft.” In this way, a hull has been validated and optimised in a digital test tank, and the Structures yard has created a 9.50-metre long launch, weighing in at just 1,650 1,870kg and featuring the fine lines synonymous with the brand’s sail boats. Powered by a 75hp Volvo Penta engine, the Loxo 32 boasts an exceptionally low fuel consumption of 0.5 litres/mile at a speed of 12 knots. For twin-engine enthusiasts, a version with 2 x 30hp engines is also available.

Her fully-equipped saloon, cockpit and coachroof won’t disorient those familiar to the brand, and it’s sure to appeal to those keen to go out on the water for the day or more. The Loxo32 features all the latest comforts, from a galley with a fridge and hot water to a WC, shower and heating. She is approved for up to 8 people and her bright interior and elegant, modern design make her particularly attractive.

Fun, seaworthy and safe for family trips, the Loxo32 has it all, as will be revealed at this winter’s major international boat shows.

To be discovered at the Nautic de Paris (K 23) and Boot Duesseldorf (17B38)
