With two first place finishes and one second place over three intense days of racing, Southern Wind Shipyard’s SW102 Farfalla has won her Class at one of the most prestigious events on the Superyacht racing calendar: the St. Barth’s Bucket.

Both the owner and Farfalla’s crew were brimming over with joy and enthusiasm. The Captain has these words: “What an amazing event! Team Farfalla showed class and skill the whole time and it shows in our results. Massive congratulations to everyone involved and thanks to everyone else for their continued support.”

After being devastated by the hurricanes Irma, José and Maria just six short months ago, the island of Saint-Barthélemy still managed to host the annual St. Barths Bucket Regatta. With 26 entries, this year’s edition rewarded Superyacht owners who choose hope over worry.

SW102 Farfalla had recently competed in the RORC 600 where she won the Superyacht Class. Helmed as always by her owner and sailed by a closely knit and experienced crew, Farfalla triumphed at St Barths in the Les Mademoiselles des Mers Class, where five sloops in the 30m size range raced pursuit-style in a tight ORC rating band.

There were three days of tough competition with the 34m Royal Huisman Spiip, winner
overall at the Bucket last year. Challenging courses and varying wind conditions combined for thrilling racing where the final outcome was only decided in the final metres.
After her successful Caribbean season, SW102 Farfalla will soon be heading back to Europe where she will be available for the summer charter season in exclusive and unusual locations such as Norway and Scotland.

SW102 Farfalla truly embodies the spirit of Southern Wind Shipyard and we are all happy and proud of the excellent way she represents our values.

Our sincerest compliments and congratulations go to her owner and crew!
