Performance & Spirit: A Southern Wind Showcase at Ibiza JoySail 2026
The Ibiza Joysail Regatta has come to an end, with the Southern Wind Family once again standing out across the fleet. This sixth edition reaffirmed the special bond between our yachts, our owners, and this iconic Mediterranean event. From September 17 to 20, seven Southern Wind yachts joined a magnificent fleet of 20 yachts, delivering four days of competitive racing and unforgettable camaraderie.
Our heartfelt congratulations go to the SW108s Gelliceaux and Kalantis for their noteworthy performances. Gelliceaux secured 2nd place in the Performance Cruising Division, while Kalantis claimed an impressive 3rd place in her Ibiza debut. Close behind was SW96 Liberty, who secured a hard-fought 4th.
In their respective division, the SW105 Kiboko demonstrated experience and consistency and secured 3rd place, while the SW100 Starfall raced in true "family” mode with the youngest crew in the fleet.
A special mention goes to the newly launched SW96 Fortissimo. She made her competitive debut immediately after completing her maiden voyage from Cape Town. Her performance is a powerful demonstration of the reliability, quality and "ready-to-race" engineering behind the SW96 platform. Not to be overlooked the custom RP-Nauta 100 Morgana which earned recognition for her flawless maneuvering, with the seamless coordination of a close-knit crew of professionals and friends showcasing the yacht’s remarkable agility.
Against the spectacular backdrop of Ibiza and Formentera, the turquoise waters provided a spectacular stage to the yacht’s constant challenge against each other and delivered performance capability in a true celebration of sailing skill, teamwork and outstanding naval architecture.
Beyond the results on the water, a community spirit was at the heart of the event. The week kicked off with the traditional Southern Wind Family Dinner and continued with three evenings of celebration in true Ibizan style.
