First 19m VISIONF 65 Hybrid catamaran unveiled
Innovative power catamaran builder VISIONF Yachts has unveiled the first unit of its all-new VISIONF 65 Hybrid. It marks the yard’s strategic entry into the sub-24m (80ft) segment.
Scheduled to be launched and delivered to her owner later this spring, the 19-metre catamaran represents an evolution for the builder, long recognised for its 24m-plus power and fully electric multihulls.
With the 65, VISIONF Yachts aims to preserve the brand’s core values while offering a more accessible format for owners seeking efficiency, liveability and contemporary hybrid technology. The shipyard also confirmed an additional hull has already been sold, with construction currently underway.
Big boat thinking in a compact platform
VISIONF’s larger models are defined by their muscular presence, and the 65 Hybrid introduces a more balanced and proportionally nuanced interpretation of that design DNA. The GRP catamaran has a maximum beam of 9 metres and a design draft of 1.3 metres and provides a substantial footprint on the water. Light displacement stands at 60 tonnes (70 tonnes loaded) and it has CE Category A certification.
VISIONF Yachts has leveraged the advantages of the catamaran configuration to deliver interior volumes that challenge expectations in this size. Accommodation is arranged for eight guests across four cabins, supported by quarters for four crew.
Particular emphasis has been placed on the relationship between interior and exterior zones. The 65 Hybrid has a generous master cabin, large glazing, clearly defined social areas, spacious main saloon and flybridge — thanks to the yacht’s 9m beam.
Hybrid efficiency
At the heart of the VISIONF 65 Hybrid lies a propulsion and energy package that combines twin 450hp Volvo Penta D8-450 diesel engines with an advanced energy management system supported by high-capacity solar panels.
The hybrid architecture integrates a 20kW auxiliary electric power system, a 101 kWh battery capacity (48VDC) and a 23 kWh battery capacity (24VDC), charged primarily by 42 solar panels, the main source of silent energy onboard. This configuration is designed to significantly reduce generator use during typical overnight anchorage.
A semi-custom platform with strong market response The VISIONF 65 Hybrid is built in GRP composite, unlike the shipyard's larger models produced in aluminium. The hull features Kevlar-reinforced bottom construction and carbon T-top. All these innovative choices reflect the priorities of this segment: weight, performance and production efficiency.
The first 65 Hybrid hull has been conceived as a showcase unit for the new series, developed as a production-ready demonstration of the series. This has allowed the yard to show the concept in a tangible, fully realised format while maintaining the flexibility required for future customisation. The new model is offered as a semi-custom platform, enabling owners to tailor layout configurations, interior finishes and technical specifications to individual preferences.
The yard plans to launch the inaugural VISIONF 65 Hybrid within the coming month, with sea trials to follow shortly thereafter. Delivery to her owner is planned for later this spring.
