The company specialized in nutritional supplements and medical devices will support the team with the Human Performance project

Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli is pleased to announce that PharmaNutra S.p.A. will be the team's Human Performance Partner for the 37th America's Cup. The nutraceutical and pharmaceutical company, already committed to the world of sport through a series of major medical partnerships, will support the Italian challenger with its Cetilar® brand and its know-how in the field of nutritional supplements and medical devices for muscles and joints.

The partnership was made official today in Pisa at the Musei delle Navi Antiche, during the presentation of the innovative Human Performance project, tailored for the sailors of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team.

The Human Performance project is coordinated by a medical-scientific group of excellence that will follow the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team with the goal of assessing, monitoring and optimising the psychophysical condition of the sailors involved in the 37th America's Cup, by means of a customised program focused on training, injury prevention, nutrition and mental preparation.

Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli and PharmaNutra share their professional and scientific approach to the world of sport, the passion for innovation and research, and their common Italian heritage. They also both embrace the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, the value of teamwork and inclusion, and actively promote projects related to respect for the environment and protection of the ocean.

Attending the presentation of the Human Performance Project were Andrea and Roberto Lacorte, respectively President and Vice-President and CEO of PharmaNutra S.p.A., a delegation from the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team - led by Team Director Max Sirena and Operations Manager Gilberto Nobili -, the President of the Italian Sailing Federation, Francesco Ettorre, and members of the scientific team behind the project.

«We are very happy to have PharmaNutra and its Human Performance scientific medical team alongside Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli», said Team Director Max Sirena. «PharmaNutra is a leading company in the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical sector with a long history of collaboration with sport teams, following not only their athletic preparation, but a general path aimed at overall performance enhancement. I am certain that this program will help us enormously in the best possible way in the preparation of our sailors, enabling them to maximise their performance on the boat in preparation for the 37th America's Cup».

«In the last America's Cup both boat and crew reached a very high level of performance that astounded everyone», said Gilberto Nobili, Operations Manager of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli; «but that should not be considered an ultimate achievement as much as the starting point for the next Cup. We are working very hard on the new boat, constantly improving the hull, systems and strategies, both at sea and on shore, and we want to devote the same attention to the athletic preparation of the sailors, because we know how important this is in racing. We are confident that, thanks to the collaboration of PharmaNutra and the team they have dedicated to us, we will be able to make the most of the individual characteristics of our guys to achieve an excellent team result».

«We are happy and proud to be able to work alongside an international team like Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team in this new, highly anticipated challenge for the America's Cup. And, above all, we are proud to be able to share our medical-scientific expertise in the field of sports preparation with the team.» says Andrea Lacorte, President of PharmaNutra S.p.A. «From here to the America's Cup we expect intense and stimulating work, with many ideas to be developed to achieve the maximum physical and mental performance of Luna Rossa's crew».

«Human Performance is a project that has no precedents in sailing: we have involved top level experts in the field of medical science, with whom we already work in the context of motorsports, to develop a program that is as innovative as it is ambitious», adds Vice-President and CEO Roberto Lacorte. «The search for the best physical and mental performance, in a challenge such as the America's Cup, is a fundamental aspect and is the reason why we have laid the foundations of this project in which we have great confidence».
