E1 touches down in Dubrovnik as championship battle heats up
Anticipation is building ahead of the third round of the 2025 UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF, the world’s first all-electric raceboat series, that is set to make waves in Dubrovnik, Croatia this weekend.
The historic Croatian city will welcome the championship on the 13 and 14 June with spectators along the Adriatic Coast set to witness the cutting-edge electric E1 RaceBird take flight across the water for the E1 Dubrovnik GP 2025, presented by Adriatic Luxury Hotels.
Hosting this weekend’s race, Dubrovnik joins a prestigious lineup of global marine cities. The event follows the season opener in Jeddah and the second round in Doha, where Team Rafa moved ahead of Aoki Racing Team to take the lead. Yet with the championship standings still tightly contested, as well as the chance to be awarded PIF Pilot of the Race, plenty of glory remains up for grabs in Croatia’s most iconic and captivating city.
The race will be hosted in partnership with Adriatic Luxury Hotels, the presenting partner, with their Excelsior Hotel serving as E1’s official Ocean Club hospitality venue.
There will be a free Fan Zone on Friday and Saturday from 12 to 6pm where people can see the racing up close, enjoy the big screen entertainment and watch the podium presentation on race day.
E1 is also delighted to welcome the Croatian National Tourist Board as an Official Premium Partner for the race whose public facing ‘Croatia Full of Life’ brand will feature extensively across key event touchpoints. With E1 broadcast to around 140 territories and a growing fanbase, the race will help highlight Croatia's growing influence in attracting international sporting events to the country as well as underlining its commitment to sustainability and the protection of its coastal ecosystems.
In addition to the on-water action, the Dubrovnik Blue Natural Capital Summit will bring together invited global thought leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore the future of clean marine technologies and sustainable coastal development. Presented by E1 and the Croatia Powerboating Club, under the honourable patronage of the Croatian Ministry of Tourism and Sport and the Croatian Chamber of Economy, this high-level conference will discuss ocean finance and the potential of Blue Natural Capital as a foundation for sustainable economic development in Croatia and the rest of the world, leveraging ocean innovation, blue carbon markets, and eco-tourism to drive growth and resilience.
Rodi Basso, E1 co-founder and CEO, said, “We are thrilled for E1 to be racing on the waters of Croatia. The culturally rich and historic city of Dubrovnik is set to be one of our most illustrious destinations yet, and it’s encouraging to see another iconic European city help drive the movement towards sustainable sport.”
Dubrovnik will kick off E1’s highly anticipated European leg. Following this weekend, the championship will meet the scenic waters of Lake Maggiore before returning to the iconic home of racing - Monaco. From there, the series will make its debut on the African continent, as the vibrant shores of Lagos host the penultimate race of the 2025 season.
The electrifying finale will unfold across the Atlantic in Miami, where one team will ultimately be crowned 2025’s “Champions of the Water”.
