The Mirabaud Sailing Video Award competition is intended primarily for audiovisual professionals; it also rewards professional sailors who film themselves during regattas and a specific prize is intended for them. Last year, French sailor Kito de Pavant won this award with his video "The Ocean is not large enough". A video rich in emotion, which showed the terrible incident that occurred during the Vendée Globe, when he hit a whale at full speed and lost his keel in the middle of the ocean.

The winners of the Mirabaud Sailing Video Award will be celebrated at the Yacht Racing Forum (Lorient (FRA), 22-23 October), in front of the leading figures from the international sailing world. Professional sailors are already invited to submit their best video to www.sailingvideoaward.com (maximum duration: 1'30 - soundtrack free of rights). Deadline: 24 September 2018.

The videos will be published on the website as soon as they are received, while the international jury and the public will vote from 28 September to 15 October.

Three prizes are awarded in the Mirabaud Sailing Video Award :

The Special Jury Prize, which rewards the best video made by a sailor in a race, filmed entirely on board his sailboat.

The winner of the main prize - the Mirabaud Sailing Video Award - chosen by a prestigious international jury (announced in May).

The Public Award , based on the number of votes acquired by each video on the Internet.

The winners will share a prize money of at least € 2'000.

The first edition of the Mirabaud Sailing Video Award was a success: more than 700,000 people visited the social networks and the competition website, while the videos were viewed 227,000 times. Find the videos of the 2017 edition online by clicking here.
