Mercury Marine strikes twice in the high-performance outboard segment, launching the new 425 hp Verado V10 and a major upgrade of its well-known 350 hp model.

These two engines not only reinforce Mercury’s leadership in the premium segment but also confirm the brand’s commitment to offering boaters power, efficiency, and benchmark-level quiet operation.

425 hp: Raising the Bar

The new 425 hp Verado V10 is designed for those seeking top-tier performance without compromising on weight or comfort. Mercury tested it on a 26-foot center console loaded with 5,000 lbs and achieved a 0–30 mph acceleration that was 3 seconds faster than a competing 450 hp engine. But it’s not just about speed: the new 425 is also 115 kg lighter (in 25” XL configuration), features a 150-amp alternator – the most powerful in its class – and delivers 22% less noise at cruising speed compared to its direct competitor. In short, an outboard that blends raw performance with the refined comfort typical of the Verado range.

The 350 hp Verado V10 Gets a Major Upgrade

The newly updated 350 hp Verado is no less impressive, benefitting from key technical upgrades aimed at enhancing speed, mid-range torque, and onboard power management. In Mercury’s tests, the updated 350 outperformed a competitor’s equivalent: +2.7 mph in top speed (under light load), 0–30 mph acceleration 4 seconds faster, and 0–top speed 17.8 seconds quicker in heavy load configuration.

Mid-range torque has also improved significantly, resulting in a 15% faster 0–50 mph acceleration compared to the previous Mercury model. On the comfort front, the new 350 hp is up to 40% quieter at cruise than its rivals, while the alternator delivers four times more usable power while underway – a clear benefit for onboard systems.

A Single Platform for All Needs

Both the 425 and 350 hp models are built on Mercury’s compact V10 platform with a 26-inch center-to-center spacing – a design choice that makes repowering easier on boats already equipped with Verado L6 or other outboards, while also simplifying multi-engine installations on next-generation hulls.

As with every Verado model, advanced electronics are standard: Digital Throttle & Shift comes equipped on both engines, while the optional Joystick Piloting system ensures precision control in tight docking situations or with strong crosswinds.

With this launch, Mercury further expands its premium outboard offering, adding the new 425 and 350 hp to its established 400 hp. A complete lineup, ready to meet the needs of builders, owners, and performance-minded boaters seeking reliability and comfort.

The new models are already available at authorized Mercury dealers.
