During a joint press conference in Düsseldorf, Frauscher and Porsche presented two premieres: the world debut of the electric Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre and the German premiere of the new fully electric Cayenne.

The event marks a new chapter in a collaboration that began around four years ago, when Porsche approached the Austrian shipyard with the idea of developing an electric boat based on its automotive technology. That initial contact led to the creation of a prototype, followed by the debut of the Frauscher 850 Fantom Air and later the E-Fantom model, which went on to set a world speed record for electric boats at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge: 49.84 knots (92.3 km/h), the highest average speed ever recorded in the history of the event, calculated over two one-kilometre runs.

The new 790 Spectre represents a significant evolution. Unlike the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom, which was based on an existing hull adapted for electric propulsion, the 790 was designed from scratch, starting directly from Porsche’s technology.

The hull was developed ex novo by naval architect Harry Miesbauer, specifically tailored to the weight distribution of the electric powertrain, while the surface design was handled by Stefan Everwin. The goal was to coherently integrate the DNA of both brands, both technically and stylistically.

The level of customisation is one of the core elements of the project. The boat is finished in a Porsche “paint to sample” Dark Teal Metallic colour, while the interiors feature components typical of the brand’s automotive world: five circular instruments on the dashboard, a steering wheel and a driving mode selector. All materials have been adapted for marine use, ensuring resistance to saltwater and UV exposure.

In terms of performance, the 790 Spectre is equipped with a propulsion system delivering 400 kW of peak power (544 hp) and 170 kW of continuous power—the same system that enabled the E-Fantom to set the world record. According to the designers, however, the performance of the new model could allow it to surpass the existing benchmark.

Porsche explained the strategic rationale behind its involvement in the marine sector: internal analysis showed that around one third of the brand’s customers already own a boat or intend to purchase one. This led to the decision to extend the concept of electric mobility to the marine environment as well.

Supporting this synergy, Porsche also unveiled the Macan Turbo Concept, a one-off model created by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. The car shares the same colour as the 790 Spectre and incorporates nautical elements: wood from the Frauscher deck has been used for floor mats, door panels and luggage compartments, while the seats are upholstered in the same marine fabric. A demonstrator of the possibilities offered by the “Sonderwunsch” customisation programme.

The new Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre will be available from spring 2026 through exclusive importer Cantiere Nautico Feltrinelli.

Electric Cayenne: record-breaking performance
The new fully electric Porsche Cayenne, already unveiled globally in November 2025, made its German debut. The model will sit alongside the combustion and hybrid versions, which will remain in the range.

The interior follows the “Porsche Driver Experience” concept, combining digital and analogue elements in a driver-oriented cockpit. The infotainment system includes heated surfaces, electrically adjustable seats and a panoramic glass roof.

In terms of performance, the Cayenne Turbo becomes the most powerful production car ever built by Porsche, with maximum output of up to 1,156 hp and acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h in 7.4 seconds. Charging supports power levels of up to 400 kW, enabling charging from 10 to 80 percent in less than 18 minutes. It is also among the first cars to offer wireless inductive charging.

Longer than the combustion-engined version, the electric Cayenne offers increased rear space and a 90-litre front luggage compartment. Of particular relevance to the marine world is its towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes—one of the highest in the electric segment—allowing it to tow the entire Frauscher x Porsche range.
