Cantiere delle Marche strengthens its presence in the pre-owned segment with the off-market sale of M/Y RJ, a 499 GT explorer yacht built by the Ancona-based shipyard. The transaction was handled by the Pre-Owned Sales division in collaboration with International Yacht Collection (IYC).

The deal represents a significant milestone for the shipyard, not only due to the profile of the unit involved, but also for consolidating the positioning of the RJ line, which now reaches five units sold across both new builds and the secondary market. A figure that reflects steady and growing international demand for this series of explorer yachts.

M/Y RJ also stands out for an important track record in her segment, having been a finalist at the World Superyacht Awards and a winner at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards for both exterior and interior design.

The transaction highlights a distinctive element of CdM’s strategy: the direct involvement of the shipyard in the resale of its own yachts on the pre-owned market. In-depth knowledge of build history, technical specifications and design intent allows each yacht to be presented with a level of detail and consistency that is difficult to replicate, fully enhancing its value.

In this context, collaboration with international brokerage firms such as IYC enables the integration of technical expertise and commercial reach, facilitating transactions that meet the expectations of both sellers and buyers.

CdM explorer yachts have progressively established themselves on the global market for build quality, long-range capability and their ability to undertake extended ocean passages. These characteristics support long-term residual value and sustain demand in the pre-owned segment.

“This sale confirms the continued success of CdM yachts on the pre-owned market and their enduring value over time,” commented Vasco Buonpensiere, CEO and Co-Founder of the shipyard. “It is a transaction that has satisfied both the first and current owner, demonstrating that purchasing a CdM-built explorer yacht represents a sound investment.”

The RJ case fits into a broader trend in which the market recognizes the long-term consistency of the CdM product. The continuity between new builds and pre-owned, combined with the shipyard’s experience in supporting transactions, helps establish benchmarks within the explorer yacht segment.

From a technical perspective, RJ is the flagship of the line: at 155 feet in length, she features exterior design by Francesco Paszkowski and interiors by Achille Salvagni. Propulsion is provided by twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines, each delivering 895 kW, enabling a range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, supported by a fuel capacity of 66,400 litres.

With this transaction, Cantieredelle Marche confirms the strategic role of the secondary market within its industrial model, strengthening direct relationships with owners and brokers while contributing to the long-term value of its yachts throughout their lifecycle.
