Sixty-five years of history and a new chapter begins. BAT chose Rome, at Porto Turistico, to present on April 17, 2026 the Combat14, a maxi-RIB marking the return of the historic Italian brand to the market of high-performance large inflatable units.

The project stems from the experience of offshore world champion Corrado Rizzardi, in collaboration with Alessandro Gioia and architect Gianluca Caputi of Caputistudio. The declared objective is clear: to renew the brand’s identity and perception within a segment where performance, technical content and customization capabilities define competitive positioning.

From a technical standpoint, the design focuses on a double-step hull, a solution aimed at optimizing hydrodynamic efficiency, stability and performance across different speeds. Hull and deck are built in Kevlar, a material that allows weight reduction while ensuring high structural strength. Dimensions stand at 14.10 metres overall length and 4.62 metres beam, with a displacement of approximately 8.5 tonnes. These parameters place the unit firmly within the high-performance maxi-RIB segment, capable of achieving high speeds and dynamic handling suitable for sporty use.

Among the distinctive features of the Combat14 is the T-Top with a “bat tail” design, a stylistic element directly referencing the brand’s historic logo. The structure extends over approximately 4 by 3 metres, providing protection for the helm station and part of the cockpit. The windshield adopts a reversed glass configuration derived from military applications, a solution that promotes natural water runoff, reducing the need for wipers and simplifying maintenance or replacement operations. The low-profile tubes, a hallmark of BAT RIBs, are retained, positioned close to the water surface to enhance overall stability and recall the aesthetics of the brand’s iconic models.

Customization is a key pillar of the project. Tube colours, interior and exterior upholstery, joinery finishes, technological equipment and domotic solutions can all be configured according to the owner’s preferences. The first unit has been built in full-optional specification to showcase the platform’s full potential.

The aft area integrates a large garage designed for tenders and water toys, supported by an electric compressor for inflation. Circulation on board is facilitated by side walkways connecting the swim platforms to the cockpit, improving onboard ergonomics. The cockpit features two 100-litre drawer refrigerators, a concealed galley with sink and double burner, and a social area arranged around a C-shaped sofa with integrated sunpad. The layout is modular, thanks to electric systems allowing multiple configurations of the living area.

The helm station is designed to ensure centralized control of onboard systems. The setup includes two Garmin displays, a Fusion audio system with 1,500-watt JBL speakers, Mercury throttle controls, a joystick with Sky Hook system, bow thruster control and wireless charging solutions. Main functions are managed through domotic integration, supported by a 3 kW inverter for onboard electrical systems.

The bow area features a chaise longue opposite a V-shaped seating arrangement with a fold-down table, convertible into a large sunbathing area. Below deck, the cabin is finished in teak and Alcantara, with LED lighting and air conditioning, and a layout designed to maximize natural light through portholes and overhead glazing. The full-beam bathroom includes a central rain shower, Tecma toilet and generous storage compartments.

From a propulsion standpoint, the Combat14 is equipped with twin 600 hp outboard engines, enabling a declared cruising speed of around 44 knots and a top speed of 60 knots. Standard fuel capacity is 1,200 litres, expandable to 1,600 litres. Trim management is handled by the Easy Lift system, custom-built in aluminium by Top System, allowing vertical adjustment of the engines to optimize trim under different operating conditions.

With the Combat14, BAT brings back to the market a product that combines the brand’s identity with updated technical content. The project enters a segment where performance, customization and build quality are the key competitive drivers, marking a strategic step in the brand’s repositioning within the premium maxi-RIB market.
