SAIM 75th anniversary, short film festival with NABA
SAIM marks 75th anniversary with a short film festival produced with NABA: screenings on 26 May at Anteo cinema in Milan
SAIM has announced the Festival dei corti, a public event scheduled for 26 May at the Anteo – Palazzo del Cinema in Milan. The initiative is part of the celebrations for the company's 75th anniversary. SAIM was founded in 1951 as a distributor of components for the automotive, industrial and marine sectors.
The festival is the result of a collaboration with NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, the second partnership between the two in the context of the SAIM 75 celebrations. Students and young filmmakers were invited to portray the company from the inside through audiovisual storytelling, producing short films based on interviews, visual narratives and moments of daily corporate life.
Massimo Donà, Chairman and CEO of SAIM, explained that the festival stems from the desire to broaden the company's narrative by exploring new languages and perspectives, giving space to the creativity of the younger generation and offering a contemporary view of the company's identity.
Marco Donà, Vice President and CEO of SAIM, added that the language of cinema was chosen as a tool to interpret the company's complexity in an immediate way, experimenting with forms of storytelling that bring together innovation, creativity and corporate identity.
The evening will feature screenings of the selected works followed by a jury award. A scholarship will also be presented. The winning projects will be incorporated into the main SAIM 75 event through installations and multimedia content. The programme includes discussion sessions with directors, industry professionals and competing filmmakers.
The event was conceived and organised by Tarpini Production, the agency responsible for the creative direction and production of the entire SAIM 75 project.
SAIM is the leading ZF distributor in Italy and operates through three business units: SAIM Marine, SAIM Industrial and SAIM Engineering. SAIM Marine is a partner to major Italian and international shipyards, covering the entire process from project development to commissioning and after-sales support. In 2022, the group acquired a majority stake in Atlantis Marine Power, a British company specialising in the distribution of Kohler-Rehlko marine gensets in the United Kingdom.
