For Gommoni Callegari, the acquisition of Geniuss represents far more than the addition of a new brand to its portfolio. The transaction brings with it manufacturing expertise, a tender range already established on international markets and, above all, a patented system that has made the Geniuss name well recognised within the sector.

The Anagni-based shipyard aims to expand its product offering into the tender segment by transferring its engineering and industrial know-how to Geniuss production. All manufacturing activities will be consolidated at Callegari’s facilities, where future product development will also be based. At the same time, the Geniuss brand will retain its own identity within the Callegari Group.

The acquisition also ensures management continuity. Claudia De Sanctis, Managing Director of Geniuss, will remain in her role, working alongside the Gommoni Callegari management team on operational and development activities aimed at strengthening the brand’s international presence while supporting its technological and commercial growth.

The industrial plan also includes the development of a new family of carbon-fibre tenders, built using resin infusion processes to reduce weight, as well as the potential introduction of electric propulsion systems in line with the market’s evolution.

The technology that has made Geniuss a benchmark in the sector is its patented outboard engine translation system. Based on the principle of the “splitting of two elements”, the mechanism allows the outboard engine to slide inside the tender through a sliding support combined with a folding transom.

This solution eliminates the protrusion of the outboard’s lower unit when the tender is stored on the swim platform, allowing larger tenders to be accommodated within limited spaces. It also improves weight distribution during launching and recovery operations, reduces drag when the tender is towed and minimises the risks associated with the exposed lower unit and propeller. The system can be operated either manually or through an electro-hydraulic mechanism controlled remotely via a wireless remote.
