Nanni Q30000 generator makes its Monaco debut: 1,213 kW for large yachts

With the Q30000, Nanni takes a significant step up in onboard power generation, raising the upper limit of its range from 764 to 1,213 kW. The new genset has been developed particularly in response to the growing market for vessels over 100 metres, where increasing electrical loads and evolving emissions regulations call for more powerful generating systems capable of being integrated into the vessel’s onboard systems architecture. The new platform therefore extends Nanni’s field of application both in the leisure sector, for superyachts and megayachts, and in the professional and naval sectors, including merchant vessels, RoRo and Ro-Pax ferries, military vessels, cargo ships and tankers.

From a technical standpoint, the Q30000 is based on the MAN D3872LE and delivers outputs ranging from 800 to 1,213 kW. It is available in fixed-speed configurations from 800 to 920 kW at 50/60 Hz, as well as variable-speed configurations from 800 to 1,213 kW, operating between 1,500 and 2,100 rpm. Compatibility with both frequencies supports installation across different international markets, while an optional soundproof enclosure is available for leisure applications to reduce noise levels.

Another key feature is fuel flexibility: the Q30000 can run on diesel, HVO or NATO F-76. The generator can also be certified as a Full Class Genset in accordance with IMO II, IMO III and Stage V requirements. Nanni also identifies high power density – resulting in a favourable power-to-weight and power-to-footprint ratio – and fuel efficiency across the full power range among the design objectives. For shipyards and operators already using Nanni generators up to 764 kW, the new range also provides a route to 1,213 kW while remaining within the same engineering platform and support network.

The Q30000 will officially debut on 22 September 2026 at the Monaco Yacht Show, where Nanni will be exhibiting at Stand D57 to present the new range and discuss configurations tailored to specific project requirements.
