The Monaco Yacht Show is taking its model beyond the Principality, choosing Saudi Arabia for a new initiative dedicated to the international yachting industry. From 14 to 17 October 2027, Jeddah will host the first edition of the Red Sea Yacht Show, an event developed with the support and expertise of the Monaco-based show.

The announcement was made during the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show, where Tahaluf and Sela signed an agreement to develop and organise the event in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. The signing followed the official presentation of the Red Sea Yacht Show, held in Monaco on 23 September.

The event will take place at the Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina, which will become the focal point of a show designed to bring together yacht owners and prospective buyers, shipyards, brokers, designers and other key players from across the international yachting industry.

The choice of Jeddah carries a significance that goes beyond the launch of another yacht show. After more than three decades in which Monaco has consolidated its position as a leading international meeting point for the superyacht world, the Monaco Yacht Show’s involvement in the Saudi project signals growing interest in the Red Sea as a new area of development for high-end recreational yachting.

A show built around yachting and the luxury lifestyle

The Red Sea Yacht Show will develop its own identity while drawing on the experience and international relationships established by the Monaco Yacht Show.

The on-water display will include superyachts, tenders and dayboats, while the programme will also embrace sectors connected with the yacht ownership experience and the wider luxury world, including fine jewellery, collectible art, automobiles, design and fine dining.

The format will therefore extend beyond a conventional boat show. Yacht viewings and professional meetings will be complemented by private receptions, dining experiences and opportunities to discover the destination itself.

It is an approach that also reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy of developing new infrastructure and tourism destinations along the Red Sea while seeking to attract an international high-end clientele.

“Monaco Yacht Show has earned an extraordinary place in the yachting world,” said Mike Champion, CEO of Tahaluf, highlighting how the decision to choose Saudi Arabia for this new initiative reflects the opportunities being identified in the Red Sea region.

According to Amer Hussain Daggag, Destinations General Manager at Sela, Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina will provide the setting not only to introduce the new show to the international yachting community, but also to showcase the destination itself and Saudi Arabia’s ambitions in marine tourism.

A strategic position in the international yachting calendar

The choice of dates is also significant.

Taking place from 14 to 17 October, the Red Sea Yacht Show will be positioned immediately after the Mediterranean season, at a time when part of the international fleet begins turning its attention towards winter destinations.

The Red Sea could therefore establish itself not only as an emerging market for yachts and related services, but also as a cruising area increasingly integrated into international yachting routes.

Jeddah, the historic gateway to the region, also sits at the centre of a growing network of tourism destinations and infrastructure being developed along the Saudi coast.

The Red Sea Yacht Show, powered by Monaco Yacht Show and supported by BOAT International, therefore has an objective that goes beyond the traditional exhibition format: to create a new meeting point between the international yachting industry and a region seeking to play an increasingly important role in marine tourism and the luxury market.

The event will be organised by Tahaluf, a Saudi joint venture specialising in major international events, and Sela, a company active since 1997 in the development of destinations and experiences across sport, entertainment, culture and hospitality.

The first real test will come in October 2027, when it will become possible to assess how the model, expertise and international relationships built by the Monaco Yacht Show over more than three decades can contribute to the development of a new international yachting hub on the Red Sea.
