Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM), renowned for its leadership in the transition to a greener yachting industry and its application of marine e-mobility, is making waves once again with the installation of Aqua superPower's cutting-edge High Power Marine Charging System. To meet the ever-evolving demands of the electric boat market, YCM has become the first marina to install two Aqua 200 HPC marine chargers, transforming the charging experience for high-performance electric leisure and commercial boats.

In 2019, YCM was the first marina in the world to equip its dock with Aqua’s DC marine fast chargers, paving the way for the adoption of electric boating, an initiative that included adding electric tenders to reinforce its Sports Section’s fleet. As host of the prestigious annual Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, YCM took its commitment to electric boating a step further by collaborating with Aqua superPower as a technical partner for this year's event.

The collaboration resulted in the creation of the biggest installation globally dedicated to public marine fast charging on a single pontoon with Aqua’s state-of-the-art AC and DC charging solutions. YCM's status as a premium location on Aqua superPower’s marine fast charge network, boasting the highest usage and daily charging sessions, makes it a vital showcase for the company's innovative technology in the pursuit of clean electric boating.

In a strategic move, Aqua superPower has entered a partnership with world leading developer of scalable EV charging solutions Kempower. This partnership aims to assist high usage site operators like Yacht Club de Monaco in managing their evolving demand for electric boat charging, enhance revenue, and support the marine industry's transition to electric propulsion.

Bernard d’Alessandri, General Secretary of the Yacht Club de Monaco said: “Monaco has always fostered its tradition as a pioneer in motorboating, notably with the organisation of the first international powerboat meetings at the turn of the 20th century. Today, the Yacht Club de Monaco continues this tradition of innovation through its collective 'Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting' approach, by hosting international events such as the Monaco Smart Yacht Rendezvous (21-22 March 2024) or the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous (22-23 September 2024), and by organising the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (1-6 July 2024), with the aim to build a sustainable yachting sector”.

Alex Bamberg, CEO of Aqua superPower said: “We constantly seek proven ‘best-in-class’ technology partners in the development of our marine fast charging network and infrastructure. We elected to work with Kempower for their scalable system architecture and seamless user experience. Our partnership enables us to provide the resilient and high-power marine fast charging that meets the commercial and leisure user demands at Yacht Club de Monaco. Our approach is centered on delivering future-proof Aqua certified marine charging infrastructure dependent on usage and location that provides the confidence to transition to clean electric boating. This has been made possible through the fantastic commitment of Yacht Club de Monaco as a global pioneer in marine e-mobility and innovation.”

Tomi Ristimäki, CEO of Kempower said: "We are committed to fostering a cleaner environment and working for emission-free transportation, not only on land but also at sea. Participating in the development of the world's largest public marine fast-charging installation on a single pontoon is a significant milestone in advancing the electrification of boats. We’re happy to be part of this project, which aims to accelerate the electrification of boats across Europe. We look forward to continuing the collaboration with Aqua superPower in the future."

The Aqua High Power Marine Charging System is a power unit and satellite solution. Yacht Club de Monaco's decision to embrace Aqua superPower's High Power Marine Charging System is a testament to their unwavering commitment to sustainability, innovation, and the future of electric boating. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the global transition to cleaner and more efficient marine transportation.

Aqua superPower will be at METSTRADE, 15th – 17th November, stand 05.705 to showcase the company’s range of AC and DC marine charging solutions, the Aqua network technology platform, and the Aqua app.
