RINA issues first Type Approval certificate to SailADV with D.gree
SailADV, a leading company in sea trials and the development of advanced data acquisition and analysis technologies, with D.gree, its new brand dedicated to data-driven technology development, has obtained the RINA “Type Approval” certification for its innovative flagship products, the H-Log system. This certification is the first of its kind.
H-Log is a system comprised of cutting-edge computing technologies with integrated Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning that is designed to collect functional parameters and enable remote monitoring of yacht status, all while complying with the complex GDPR regulatory framework.
For effective monitoring, a specific criteria must be met, data quality being the first priority. This is where H-Log reveals its most important feature. Through an innovative methodology, the system captures high-quality and selected data while simultaneously reducing energy consumption during the management phase (transmission, storage, and handling). Additionally, in the absence of an onboard connection, the system still ensures data access allowing Captains and Chief Engineers to maintain complete control in any operational situation.
In order to achieve the RINA “Digital Yacht” class notation, a certification process was required to be completed involving extensive collaboration between SailADV and RINA technicians. This process included project verification and functional tests conducted directly onboard the Sanlorenzo SP110 yacht - which received from RINA the first "Digital Yacht" class notation.
On this Sanlorenzo yacht, H-Log has been operationally tested for over a year in order to evaluate its stability and compatibility with regulatory requirements.
Having successfully passed all tests and obtained certification, H-Log is a system that now enables any RINA-classed yacht eligible for the additional "Digital Yacht" class notation.
H-Log is part of a D.gree technologies ecosystem called HYPE which works in an integrated way providing shipyard support at every stage of a yacht's lifecycle, from production to onboard operations, contributing to enhanced safety and optimum long term performance. Among HYPE technologies, the D.gree platform (H-System) provides a comprehensive overview of a yacht's status. It collects data from H-Log and other D.gree systems, organizes it, makes it visible and accessible in "real-time," and in case of anomalies sends immediate alerts based on innovative evaluation logic.
The next phase of anomaly evaluation and analysis is carried out through advanced interpretation based on cross-referencing data, and supported by the invaluable expertise of SailADV and D.gree technicians, gained from two-decades of experience.
Innovation, experience, and a performance-driven vision have led SailADV and D.gree to develop technologies that can concretely support digital transformation of the sector. The RINA "Type Approval" certification confirms this commitment.
"We are extremely proud of this achievement, which represents not only a recognition for SailADV and D.gree, but also a step forward for the entire maritime industry."
Giovanni Palamà, CEO and Founder of SailADV and D.gree.
"The journey we began with SailADV and then with D.gree is continuous because, as a company, we embraced digital transformation from the very beginning and are always ready to look beyond, perfecting every detail of our yachts."
Paolo Bertetti, Chief Innovation Officer at Sanlorenzo.
