The De Antonio Yachts’ D46 Open becomes the first Spanish boatyard in history to achieve the distinguished award for best boat of the year, in the top category.

Last weekend at Europe’s greatest boat show, the Boot Dusseldorf, the European sector’s foremost sailing magazines announced the selection of the best European yacht of the year for the sailboat and motorboat categories.

De Antonio Yachts was established in 2012 in Barcelona by Marc de Antonio and Stanislas Chmielewski, and in just six years were nominated for best yacht of the year 2018 in the under 10-metre category (30 feet) for the D28 model, and have now been selected as winners for their larger D46 Open model, in the over 14-metre category (40 feet).

The company currently offers a complete range of sailing yachts with eight different models, measuring between 8 and 14 metres. They have a yearly production of 40 yachts for 2019 between two different production centres.

50% of sales are delivered in Spain, yet the company also has a distinctive international scope, with distribution in several European countries, as well as Australia, United States, Mexico, Dubai, Saint Martin and Egypt among others.

Models: D28 Open, D28 Xplorer, D28 Deck, D34 Open, D34 Cruiser, D40, D46 Open, D46 Cruiser.

The D46 Open

The boatyard’s largest model, along with its twin, the D46 Cruiser.

It is a model which maintains its innovative propulsion system, a distinguishing feature and trademark of De Antonio Yachts in all its models with hidden outboard motors; as such improving performance and reducing maintenance costs, as well as being completely adaptable to individual client requirements.

Its powerful water lines enable speeds of over 50 knots, as well as an increased cruising speed at over 30 knots. A clear-cut design creates a modern and attractive model, with an original deck layout for daytime sailing, and up to three possible interior layouts, with one, two or three cabins, and two fully-equipped bathrooms.

The European Boat of the year jury was represented by the following European press outlets: Båtliv (Norway), BoatMag.it (Italy), Boote (Germanu), Marina.ch (Switzerland), MotorBoot (Holland), Neptune and Moteur Boat (France), Yacht Revue (Austria) and Náutica & Yates Magazine (Spain).

The nominees in the same category as the De Antonio D 46 Open were: Absolute Navetta 48, Azimut Atlantis 51, Bénéteau Swift Trawler 47, Galeon 640 Fly.
