Dordrecht - 28 June 2021 - During the next few days inland shipping on the Rhine will be treated to an unusual sight: a motor yacht being transported on a container ship. The Bestevaer 53 MY of KM Yachtbuilders was loaded on top of the standard container cargo of Koppelverband Millennium on Monday morning. This is how the Bestevaer 53 will travel the Rhine, to Karlsruhe, where she will be unloaded again on Friday 2 July.

From Karlsruhe, the Bestevaer 53 will be embarking on an Open Ship tour in Germany to invite prospects and press on board for a viewing and trial run. The vessel will be stopping in a total of six cities and staying at them for a few days. The cities on the Rhine where the yacht can be viewed are Karlsruhe (3-4 July), Mainz (6-7 July), Cologne (9-10 July) and Dusseldorf (12-14 July). The yacht will then sail to Northern Germany, stopping in Hanover (17 July) and finally Hamburg (19-21 July). An overview of the dates is attached.

Several viewings have already been scheduled, but there are still some places left. All you need to do to plan a visit is send an e-mail to [email protected], or call us by phone.

You can follow the transport and the Open Ship tour via Facebook and Instagram (KMYachtbuilders). Also watch out for the hashtag #bestevaer53 for the latest photos and videos.

The transport, loading and unloading, planning and all related matters are being carried out in a collaborative effort between:
