Omikron Yachts Win Streak Continues: OT-60 Awarded Best of Boats 2024
Omikron Yachts has secured its third major accolade of 2024 with the OT-60 winning the prestigious Best of Boats Award in the ‘Big Boats’ category. Known for embracing a “gentle by design” approach, the OT-60 combines innovative design and eco-conscious engineering, executed with exceptional craftsmanship. This recognition reaffirms Omikron Yachts’ position as a rising star in the nautical industry.
Omikron Yachts’ OT-60 received the Best of Boats Award during the ceremony held last night at the Boat & Fun boat show in Berlin. This recognition, celebrated as a benchmark of excellence in the sector, represents a significant achievement for the shipyard and its debut production model, the OT-60.
The jury, comprised of expert international editors from leading nautical magazines with a strong focus on the practical needs of boaters, awarded Omikron’s innovative model for its standout features: “This 20-meter boat is not designed for maximum speed, but for minimal fuel consumption and noiselessness. At the same time, it offers an unrivalled level of comfort and quiet on board, inspired by sailing yachts. The shipyard, with its extensive experience building boats over 80 feet, has rightly won all the international boat prizes, and now also the Best of Boats Award.”
This is the third major industry award earned this year by Omikron Yachts: the OT-60 has already garnered praise and accolades, including the European Powerboat of the Year in the Longrange category and the World Yachts Trophy as Revelation of the Year, positioning the shipyard as a benchmark of quality and innovation in the yachting industry.
This trio of accolades underscores the shipyard’s dedication to blending modern technology, sustainability, and top-tier craftsmanship in every project—a commitment that continues with the upcoming OT-80 project, the big sister of the OT-60, which will feature an enclosed flybridge, transatlantic range and optimized efficiency.
“We are honored to receive the Best of Boats Award in the ‘Big Boats’ category, a milestone that highlights the appreciation of the OT-60 and of our brand by the industry,” said Nikolas Dendrinos, Chairman of Omikron Yachts. “Winning three major awards this year is a great achievement for our team and a reflection of our dedication to redefining modern yacht design. With projects like the Argo 54 on the horizon, we remain focused on delivering yachts that bring cutting-edge technology through innovation, engineering and design for the joy of spending time at sea.”
