Pardo Yachts, world leader in open walkaround luxury boats, is delighted to announce the partnership with Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team, as official supplier. Pardo Yachts will support the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team, the Italian challenger in the 36th America’s Cup, with three boats; one Pardo 38 will provide technical support to the AC75 and two Pardo 43 will be used as official guest cruisers in the base of Cagliari and in Auckland, New Zealand.

The city of Cagliari will give way to the first regattas from 23rd to 26th April 2020, hosting the first stage of the America’s World Cup Series. The subsequent regattas will take place in Portsmouth, England, from 4th to 7th June and will end in Auckland, New Zealand, from 17th to 20th December. The Prada Cup, the series of regattas that will see the participation of all teams to select the Challenger, is set to take place in Auckland in early 2021. The Prada Cup will decree the winner who will take on the Defender in the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada, scheduled from 6th to 21st March 2021 in the gulf of Hauraki, Auckland.

Pardo Yachts will follow the team’s path for the entire duration of the event.

Now in its 36th edition, the America’s Cup is the oldest trophy in sailing history and sees the participation of the world’s most technologically advanced boats. The America’s Cup has always been synonymous with excellence, from the most innovative boats to the best teams.

The partnership between Pardo Yachts and Luna Rossa is based on shared foundations, which have allowed the two companies to find themselves in common projects and principles: two great outstanding leaders in Made in Italy, in investments in advanced technologies, in innovation, and in maximizing performance. In competitions like the America’s Cup, every tiny detail and every second lost or gained can make the difference between winning and losing. The same passion and care for every detail goes into every Pardo Yachts boat.

The Pardo 38 will be one of the technical boats to provide support and assistance to the AC75 Luna Rossa. The version equipped with three Mercury 300 hp outboard engines has been chosen for its ability to reach a speed of up to 50 knots to follow the navigation of the AC75 close up.

This performance is also guaranteed by a hull that provides excellent sea-holding qualities and perfect maneuverability, to glide safely and quickly. The single walkaround deck ensures safety on board and easy circulation. The deck develops on a single step-free level from bow to stern and is fully protected by raised sides.

As regards on-board electronic instrumentation, the Pardo 38 will be fitted out with Garmin Marine Electronics: the navigation bridge will feature the multifunction GPSMAP 8400 xsv
chartplotter equipped with 16” full HD multi-touch screen and integrated CHIRP 1 Kw dual-channel sounder module. The large screen, which can be split into 6 windows, will make it possible to keep all the necessary information under control: the BlueChart G3 charts with Navionics data, the Fantom 18 solid-state radar, the bronze through hull transducer B117 to receive information on the depth, Mercury engine data and the information of the Fusion Apollo RA770 entertainment system, and much more.

The VHF 315i radio black box guarantees communication with the crew on the other boats. EmpirBus digital switching and boat monitoring will also be installed on board to allow easy monitoring and control of the on-board systems on the GPSMAP display.

The two Pardo 43 will be used as official guest cruisers. It has been chosen for several important features which justify its great success: it is a stylish boat entirely “Made in Italy” which combines power and elegance, comfort and functionality.

The quality of the materials and finishes, the attention to detail and the infinite possibilities of customization, thanks to more than 40 years of experience of Cantiere del Pardo, represent the milestones. Pardo 43 is designed for a sophisticated boat owner, who appreciates high quality, refined design, luxury and comfort, and much more. Speed and high performance characterize the Pardo 43 thanks to attentive studies and analysis of the shape and engineering of the hull. This is the perfect boat for those who love to spend moments on board with guests and relatives, but also for those who prefer to relax in a more intimate environment.

Max Sirena, Skipper and Team Director of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli: “Pardo Yachts is the perfect combination between performance, innovation and reliability, essential values for the important role carried out by team support boats.
