The Southern Wind Rendezvous is about to begin in Porto Cervo

This year the Southern Wind Rendezvous, held from June 6 th to 10 th within the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta, will see seven yachts sailing in Sardinia's beautiful Costa Smeralda area. Organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta is one of the most exclusive and highly anticipated events of the Mediterranean regatta season. The Southern Wind Rendezvous, which is organised exclusively for Southern Wind yacht owners, has become an important part of it, so much that the Southern Wind fleet represents a significant part of of the fleet participating in this year event.

The Rendezvous will see four informal coastal races  with no requirement for handicap certificates for participating yachts. A conventional fleet start will be called  and since safe sailing is a top priority, SW yachts must adhere to the Racing Rules of Sailing and SYRA safety rules.

Our popular Rendezvous format offers informal fleet sailing among family and friends, spiced by an inevitable element of friendly competition. To unwind, there will be lunches at anchor, an exclusive Sand Bliss party with sunset cocktails reserved for Southern Wind owners and their crew, the Giorgio Armani Owners' Dinner and an illuminating evening of Southern Wind 'Tech Talks', where the SW Team will informally present the innovations that are shaping the company's future.

SW105 SØRVIND

Launched in March 2022, SW105 Sørvind is making her Rendezvous debut in Porto Cervo. In just over a year, Sørvind has successfully completed her maiden voyage from Cape Town, enjoyed a busy charter season and made a splash at the Monaco Yacht Show. Both owner and crew are very pleased to be aboard the yacht that won the Best Sailing Yacht in the Sailing Yacht below 50m category at the recent World Superyacht Awards. The owner will be participating in the Rendezvous with his family and his young and enthusiastic permanent crew with a couple of pros to offer their racing support.

SW102 EGIWAVE

Egiwave is the fourth hull in the SW102 series, and is a Raised Saloon version with standout exteriors that give her an aggressive and modern look. Her owners love to cruise extensively and are fond Rendezvous participants, having attended a couple of our events.

SW100 FREEBIRD:

Freebird is another Rendezvous regular with an owner who sails harder and faster every time. Freebird will be participating in the Rendezvous ahead of an intense charter season and has a new and highly motivated crew, who will be backed up by a couple of pros for good measure.

SW100 STARFALL

Launched 15 years ago under the name Farewell, this SW100 was the first hull in a series that has redefined superyachts in the 30m segment. With her new, young and motivated owners, Starfall is coming to Porto Cervo to prove that she still deserves the outstanding reputation she has gained over the years. With newly refit exteriors, Starfall will be sailing with a crew that includes the owners' family.

SW96 AMMONITE

While this is far from the first time that Ammonite has attended a Rendezvous, this year is special because it marks the first time that this Rendezvous regular will join us with her new owner and his dedicated crew. The third yacht in the SW96 miniseries is not only easy to sail in any condition, but also easy on the eyes due to her uncluttered sightlines and light colour scheme. The Rendezvous will be the perfect opportunity for both owner and crew to get better acquainted with Ammonite.

SW94 ARAGON

Co-owned by two couples that share a real passion for sailing, Aragon is sure to bring sparkle and a competitive edge to our event. With a racing-ready setup, Aragon and her owners are true SW ambassadors to the world, sailing across oceans and living aboard for extended periods of time with their families, nurturing a new generation of live-aboard sailors. Aragon has a new crew headed up by a young and enthusiastic Captain and is sure to be a competitive force.

SW78 OCEAN HORSE

On top of owning a lovely Southern Wind yacht, Ocean Horse's owner deserves special mention because he has owned no less than three SW yachts so far. Experience, class and true sailing passion drive Ocean Horse and her crew while her owner and his friends and family are perhaps the participants with the most Rendezvous experiences under their belts.
