This is us: 2024 Southern Wind Rendezvous started perfectly

The 2024 Southern Wind Rendezvous started perfectly with sunshine, steady breeze, and good friends all gathered together in Porto Cervo. This morning, after the Captain’s briefing and Southern Wind Family breakfast, the fleet headed off out for exceptional day on the water in a crisp 15-knot mistral.

While SW100 Morgana and the other yachts racing in the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta, had their fleet start, the Rendezvous had a staggered start, with the fastest yachts starting last and heading off along a scenic course bypassing the islands of Bisce, Monaci and Mortorio.

The spectacle of the Southern Wind yachts hoisting their sails against the backdrop of the Costa Smeralda’s sparkling waters and stunning scenery was a reward for everyone but in the end it was Kiboko that won the Rendezvous “race” to lunch off Sardinia’s famous Pevero beach. While the fleet opened their lunch boxes, champagne corks popped in celebration of a truly perfect day of sailing with friends.

This evening will see the Giorgio Armani owner’s dinner on the YCCS terrace and tomorrow there will be more sunshine, breeze and the chance to celebrate the Southern Wind family at our exclusive dinner in the charming village of San Pantaleo.
